Not too bad on my picks considering Fig would have won without the point deduction. Can’t say I disagree with that decision though. Props to those guys for putting on that show considering they BOTH fought three weeks ago. Incredible.
Give these guys a full three month training camp and run it back. One of the best fights I’ve ever seen.
I’m not sure of the accuracy of it but there’s a list of rumored UFC releases floating around that includes names like Gus, Lawler, Faber, Jeremy Stephens, Woodley and Rockhold
Man I thought Oliveira might win but to completely dominate Tony was damn impressive. I do wonder if Tony has lost something though, it’s just odd to see him get dominated twice in a row like this.
Yeah its hard to tell whether he's just not as good anymore or if Justin and Olivera were just that good. Probably a bit of both.
fighters get on losing streaks just as easily as they get on winning streaks so I want to give him the benefit of the doubt but he did not look good last night and being his own head coach essentially for this fight was not a smart move. I'd love to see him bounce back but I can honestly see him losing his next one too
Yeah, I think age and mileage (and probably all of his goofy training methods) have caught up to him, but I’m not sure as to what degree. For what it’s worth, I definitely think Justin and Charles have both ascended to new levels recently in their careers and that Tony would have beaten them both had they met earlier on. I still think regardless of his apparent decline, this fight exposed that Tony can be controlled on the ground with relative ease, so that elusive fight with Khabib doesn’t sound like such a what-if for his career.
I keep cracking up at the fact that Conor keeps ending up as #1 P4P on the UFC site's rankings after each event. Part of me thinks the UFC is being serious, but then they eventually adjust them so they must have some sort of hacking issue. Hilarious troll either way.
It’s something to be said that Conor is still able to keep the amount of attention in the UFC as he has. It goes to show just how many people really did jump into watching MMA when he was in the headlines for good reasons. No one goes away as long as he does and still draws despite not holding a title or fighting any real top contenders outside of Khabib the last 4 years. Maybe when GSP came back, but that’s about all I can compare.
