Same here. I think he's just a guy who's admittedly really full of himself, but if you were him, wouldn't you be, too? I mean, come on. He's never even had a loss to set him back and reevaluate. He was always testing himself in such the craziest ways. Trying to drink and party and slack off in training and was still beating the best of the best. It's ridiculous the amount of talent he has, love him or hate him. I know what he means about the partying though. I've felt that same way before. Not addicted to any sort of substance or anything, but you just love being around that social environment and out with friends. He also doesn't seem like the brightest individual either, so that doesn't help making all of these mistakes over and over. Hopefully he gets on the right track, but I'm glad he's just honest about everything. He doesn't strike me as a "liar", really.
Sneaky good card, going with Pettis, Cerrone, Swanson and Kennedy. That said, I have zero faith in any of those picks and would not be surprised if they all lose violently.
Yeah, if Holloway wins he'll get the belt, if Pettis wins he doesn't. What an absolute disaster, UFC earned this one for sure. Hope Max renegotiated on the spot.
What a huge disappointment. There seems to be a lot of fighters missing weight badly as of late. The new ownership can't be happy about this. Rooting for Holloway hard.
Man, disappointment is right. All that talk on Embedded about this being his better weight class, woof. The lesson is Conor always wins.
Maybe I'm hungover and then brain isn't working poroperly yet. But why are they fighting for the interim belt if Aldo has been given undisputed featherweight with the Conor vacation? Is Aldo injured and can't defend his new belt. I can't remember it working this way before
In order: Power play on Conor (Theoretical) $$$ It's just so delicious that this has turned on the UFC. A Pettis win would be so ideal from a chaos point. Can you give a title shot to a guy coming off a weight miss? MMA is just so bizarre.
Calling Ceronne and Holloway tonight. I forgot this card was even happening because I've been off the grid most of the week. Also don't know what happens with a Pettis win. Conor is out, Aldo moves to the real belt, Max loses to Pettis (hypothetically), but Pettis is not granted the Interim title... just threw a wrench in the whole division if that happens. I guess the hidden player there would be El Cucuy. If offered a for sure shot at Aldo, he would definitely jump on it which would open up Lightweight.
I know Holloway is just a fuckin beast, but it's still weird seeing Pettis get whooped no matter how many times it happens. He used to be such a prodigy then it seemed like he just...stopped caring? I'm not sure.
though pettis has been kinda bad for a while, i really do believe holloway could beat aldo. the dude is on a different level right now
Max is the Tony Ferguson of the Featherweight division: the guy you don't want to fight. Torn on the Aldo and Max fight because I would really love to see either fight McGregor again which is obviously still a goal for both.
I love the fights that are so good, the loser of the fight's stock even goes up. Can't wait to see where that guy goes from here.
