Yan/Sterling is great. Honestly it should be the main event since Nunes is in another squash match. Khismet/Magny and Jacare/Vettori is great too. Add one more solid fight and that’s a great main card.
Smart move. Connor doesn’t deserve to call his shots and supersede championship fights. Hope he takes the date and gets wrecked by Dustin.
Conor admitted he wanted the Dustin fight to essentially warmup for Pacman (both are southpaws) Dustin is not the same fighter that he was when they first fought. And I wouldn’t be particularly surprised if he beat McGregor.
This also seems like a case of Dana/UFC just trying to ego the fuck out of Conor. Which I’m sure is warranted but he’s just hurting the fans and hurting the buyrate of those year end PPVs. If he’s wanting to wait for fans, that shit still isn’t happening in January. You could put that fight on Fight Island and fill that arena with some of the richest mother fuckers on the planet and you’d make more money than having it in Vegas.
Cool, I'm down for Conor/Dustin. But, since it's Conor/Dana their egos will find someway to make this fight not happen. Bet the next step is Dana saying Cowboy Stadium is out.
Oh damn I didn’t realize Ortega v Zombie was this weekend. Also interesting that Andrade is moving up to flyweight. Will be interesting to see if she looks great and would be a challenge to Valentina.
Still can’t help but wonder what a rematch between Nunes and Cyborg would be like. No one has anything to offer either woman in their respective promotions.
got this from reddit, but it’s interesting how all but 2 punches missed lol. one clean counter (which almost happened) and Francis’ lights would’ve been shut out
Same here. I honestly think the fight plays out differently each time you match the two of them up. Although, I will say, even in the beginning of the fight last night, it was obvious that Cyborg is pretty hittable when it turns into a brawl. She leaves her chin straight up in the air and doesn't move her head while she swings which makes me think that Nunes would win those wild exchanges almost every time. Amanda is too slick for that. I do think if the pace of the fight were to slow down, it would come out about 50/50. I'm not sure why he tried to throw a leg kick while he was moving straight back, but he didn't really give himself much of a chance to get out of the way lol. But yeah, Francis seems to throw all of his technique out the window because he never needs it. I wouldn't be surprised if Stipe is able to capitalize on that if he drags it into the later rounds again.
I still want to see a third fight between Nunes and Shevchenko. Beyond that there isn’t much that seems like a big challenge in the UFC for either of those women at the moment.
Weidman would be a more interesting test simply because he is more well-rounded, in my opinion. However, I don't know how much Weidman has left in the tank anymore.
Weidman won his first fight in three years and hasn't stopped shit talking since. He’s get murdered lol
