  1. Did he wear that mink coat outfit to look somewhat like Santa Claus?

I think joe frazier wore the outfit once. I think all his press outfits may have honoured a fighting great?

But my point on that was, he doesn't need to go full-force in a boxing match, it would be all striking which is Conor's best ability. I think Floyd would expect to be able to run and tire him out, but the only person to really "gas" Conor has been Diaz.

Anybody read Eddie Alvarez's post about the fight? He pretty much summed up everything I was thinking while watching... "Dude, you are doing everything wrong". I'm glad he realized that that fight was not indicative of his fighting potential and not even an accurate reflection of how he stacks up to Conor. He tried boxing him AND circling the wrong way. I mean...you're just asking for it.

I feel awful for him because in this sport and ESPECIALLY against Conor, they're so against people getting a shot at redemption even though he was just the champion. Just ask Jose Aldo. You win for a decade straight and then have one bad showing and you're out of luck lol.

I can't say I feel bad for him. Like you said, he did everything wrong.

If Conor decides to not defend a belt/or faces Diaz I'll be bummed, but as dominant as he's been in the two title fights I have no problem with his opponents having to win one or two to get back in the conversation.

Really the only people I feel really bad for are Tony and Max. Both riding massive win streaks but aren't getting their dues because of the circumstances.

As much as I like Aldo, he can't really complain about McGregor holding up the division. He was notorious for pulling out of fights to the point where he left the division hanging more often than not. Same with Khabib. He's been ultra impressive, but you can only gripe so much about a title shot when you've been injured that much.

Tony and Max have been keeping quiet and blasting through their opponents with consistency.

Yeah, if Max gets past Pettis, he'll have a legitimate gripe. The only problem I have with Aldo has nothing to do with him and everything to do with the UFC. If they didn't make him fight for the interim belt, he wouldn't have a leg to stand on. But they did, and he won, and he deserves the opportunity to unify those belts sooner than later.

Somewhat agree on Khabib, but he's undefeated and healthy now, smashes everyone in front of him and is a big talking Russian. That fight sells itself. I love Tony as a fighter, but in the new UFC you (wrongly) have to do some self promotion, which he doesn't seem to be interested in.

TL:DR UFC backed themselves into multiple corners and will have to cannibalize contenders waiting for Conor to make his next move.

I agree with essentially everything, except for saying Aldo had a bad showing. McGregor Dinked him!

Winging a careless hook and getting KOed in 13 seconds is a bad showing for someone who hadn't lost in a decade though lol

    Bisping vs. Romero
Jacare vs. Mousasi III for next (both coming off wins)
Rockhold vs. Weidman II (both coming off losses and were supposed to rematch already)

  11. this bellator card is really good rn

This is super weird switching back and forth between UFC and Bellator...especially after already seeing a UFC event today.

OH BOY! Fedor and Mittrione out on the screen right now. They are a funny combo.

  13. mvp's legs scare me. they look like they could snap anytime they get hit

I'm also getting some Anderson Silva vibes from him. Unfortunately like the commentators are saying, he's got the same problem as Anderson where if the other guys are too scared to engage, no one throws any punches. Up until this third round, Gonzales has looked terrified.

  15. after what happened to cyborg, i'd be terrified too, just a bit haha. mvp practically derailed all the hype he was getting with the performance though which is a shame.

Just catching up on everything that happened this weekend. I don't know how one judge scored that title fight for Benson. I had rounds 1-4 for Chandler and then round 1 was a 10-8. That was a beating if I've ever seen one.

Also, I love Benson, but man, don't run around the cage screaming like you have all of this energy left when you let multiple rounds slip by you. Maybe he was giving his all, but Chandler was clearly gassed from using every bit of energy he had to try and finish the fight. It just seems corny to yell like you made this big come back when all you actually did was get beat for four rounds and try to go for the finish in the fifth.

Got to admit, I love Coker being Coker. Hopefully, they're completely done with the freak show fights from here on out.

Me too. Can't say there's anything worse than the Kimbo vs. Dada 5000 match. One guy nearly dies in the cage and spends the next couple of weeks in the hospital while the other guys tests positive for steroids and then passes away a couple of months after... Not to say every fight is on that level, but hopefully they'll stay away from anything that's not 100% serious.

Cormier out of the fight with Johnson.

Not sure why everyone hates Cormier so much, but every Facebook post about it is littered with people demanding he gets stripped and saying he pulls out more than any other LHW...this is literally only his second time.

Spewing!! Mark Bradshaw what is your Facebook source out of curiosity. Official UFC/Cormier or just a general MMA page (just wondering what kind of fans would have that mass general opinion of DC)

MMAFighting's page is usually the most "official" source for me, but it happens all over. The UFC page, other fighters' pages like Carlos Condit's... It usually always turns into a discussion about Conor lol but this time people were just awful. Calling DC a "lard ass" and saying he is pulling out because he ate too much at Thanksgiving and can't make weight.

Sucks to hear about DC / Rumble 2. And yeah, fans have an irrational hatred towards D.C. UFC instagram page is always full of haters whenever D.C. is mentioned.

People will never accept him even though he very well should be in the top P4P discussion. The Conor lovers gloat about how he is a two-division champ, but will scoff when you bring up the fact that DC was undefeated against top heavyweights and only has one loss: a decision against the actual P4P best. Haha.

Ahhh ok. That's surprising I was guessing that official UFC might have more obnoxious comments like the lard ass stuff and the ones you were on would have more level headed fans like on here
