Yeah I think Aldo might have a rough night. If he managed to pull this off, I'd be so stoked, but Yan is an animal. I was really looking forward to seeing him vs. Cejudo because I thought he would take it to him, but oh well. It's still so surreal and weird to me that Jorge Masvidal can generate this much hype. Nevermind that I unknowingly watched him fight on YouTube back in the day, but I remember rooting for him in Strikeforce almost 10 years ago. He was always one of those guys who would always churn out a great performance but would fall short against the top guys. I never would have guessed that he would turn out to be a superstar and that we would be clamoring over the idea of him getting a Welterweight title shot.
You think fighting Max Holloway is a breeze for anyone? I’m willing to bet on: Usman Holloway Yan Namajunas Ribas
I don’t think the Volk/Holloway fight is going to be a blowout by any stretch of the imagination, but I do think Volkanovski is going to win another decision.
Alex vs. Max is the hardest one to call because both guys are so complete stylistically. There's not an obvious path of victory for either so it comes down to tiny little adjustments and small gaps to exploit. Alex clearly won the first fight even though it was highly competitive so I think it just comes down to what things each guy took away from that one.
Gut feeling that Volk is just one of those guys that is always going to be a problem for Max. Similar to what Max was to Aldo. Aldo was to Frankie. Frankie was to BJ, etc. Guess we'll see. Feel like it's going to be the closest of the three title fights.
Rountree denounced this and is actually annoyed with the guy who reported it. All he told him was that he was offered "a fight" at heavyweight but that it wasn't Greg Hardy and no contract has been signed or sent.
Glover has everything to gain from beating Santos. Easily a top contender right now behind Blachowicz. I’d say if he wins, he faces Reyes or Jones next. That’s a crazy full circle turn of events. He was on an amazing streak early in his UFC career and very talked about, but ran into a prime Jones and hasn’t fought for the title since. This current streak is the closest since that title fight he’s been again, and it could likely be against Jones again.
It’s crazy that it seemed like LHW was done and now we have three legitimate rematches for Jon and then Jan making a surprise run. I’m actually excited to see how those matches shake out, for once. Hopefully Jon actually comes back.
Yeah I just saw the Perry video. It’s so much worse than just being a moron. It started out moronic then got worse and worse and worse. He checked almost every piece of shit box there is by the end. An absolute garbage human.
Yeah, bad behavior only warrants an release from the promotion if you aren't a main even or co-main event fighter! What makes it worse are the absolute shitheads that are defending him all over Twitter and Instagram. Saying that the old guy "had it coming" because he approached him. Even from the conversation they were having immediately beforehand, it sounded like they were already trying to call the police on Mike for assaulting two other people (his girlfriend says he was hitting her cousin when another guy "touched" him trying to break it up and Perry hit him).
