Doubt this gets scrapped. Florida gives no shits and for all we know the UFC pumped a lot of money into the government to get these events approved.
looks like he wasn't exposed to any other fighters so that's something at least I have this sinking feeling that I'll wake up and the fights will be cancelled
According to Dana, everyone is being tested everyday. They are doing as much as they can possibly do with testing and far more than WWE has done. This was just an oversight by having him at the weigh ins. Besides that they did everything they can do. I hope he didn't expose anyone and the fights go on as planned.
Honestly, and this is the least important thing at hand, I was really looking forward to Hall v Souza. But OBVIOUSLY, this happening couldn’t be more on the nose for proving the point that this event was not supposed to happen.
I was on ESPN earlier, there aren’t any plans as of right now to cancel the event unless someone from higher up makes a last minute call.
Seeing tons of promotion all over still. I think the only way this gets cancelled is if someone else tests positive
Just hoping that at some point in the future, this event is looked back upon as a nice return to normalcy and doesn’t go down as a black mark on the UFC’s history where they got a bunch of their fighters/crew seriously ill...
I get why a lot of people are against this event, but I'm selfishly hoping it goes on with no issues. The UFC is doing the best they can to protect the fighters given the circumstances for the most part and far more than WWE has done who hasn't tested any of their crew at all and is only doing temp checks. Fighters need to make a living and know the risks, its a less than ideal situation for all involved. I hope they use the Jacare situation as learning experience when it comes to quarantine and pulling any fighters who had potential exposure through friends or family.
All that being said, I'm beyond excited for tonight. Most stacked card in quite some time and on the fence on who to root for in most of them.
100% class act. I will always wonder how good this dude could’ve been. Just always seemed so gun shy and afraid to hurt someone. His TUF run was literally iconic lmao
