I can’t even imagine taking somebody’s hip bone to the head, then getting my nose broken by a shoulder, then trying to remain standing. I’d of been on the floor a lot quicker than Don was.
This is exactly it. Smith parachuted into a sport he has little, to no, knowledge about. Did has song and dance. And since the UFC is still too new to ESPN, Rogan (the last of the old guard and has nothing to fear from EPSN) took him to task for it. Smith was wrong, is still wrong, but he'll never change and we'll see him at Khabib v Conor 2.
Still freaks me out haha I watched Brock/Mir 2 yesterday and he held Frank down like a child the whole fight. Was super impressive in its own way.
I'm still really impressed with Brock's entire run tbh. I wish he made the switch way before. Obviously could've done without the roids and shit but ya know.
Same, he accomplished so much in such a short period. He was Mark Coleman 2.0 with 40 extra pounds on him.
What a surreal fight week. I can't even get pumped for it. Undecided if I'll buy the ppv on Saturday.
Just when I had begun to appreciate DC more he goes and shits all over Stipe for not taking the time during all this chaos to give him the title shot he’s demanding. On top of that, he looks at his loss to him as disgraceful and said it “never should’ve happened because he knows he’s a better fighter.” Ugh. You lost, fair and square. He doesn’t owe you anything just because you’re getting old and are a sore loser.
Man, I'm so pumped that this is actually happening and that all of the title fight participants made weight. EVERY fight even from the opening prelim is worthy of the main card. Tony and Gaethje is an interesting one stylistically because both guys like to walk down their opponents and never move backwards. My gut says Tony will catch him in a submission whenever things inevitably get really sloppy, but honestly, it's kind of a coin toss and depends on who gets broken down first. Otherwise, I'm going Cejudo, Ngannou, Kattar, Hardy, Pettis, Werdum, Waterson, and Jacare.
Can’t believe I’m about to watch Dom Cruz in a title fight tomorrow. edit: also just saw that Stephens missed weight by 4.5lbs. Only fighter that didn’t make weight.
If I'm Gaethje, I go all out for three rounds. Tony gets hit, so push the pace and try and level him inside of three. Cejudo should win, but with the shoulder injury and general weirdness of this, Cruz has a real shot. Watch the winner rematch Dillashaw on some bullshit in 2021. Ngannou/Rozenstruik will be like waiting for a bomb to go off.
I think Gaethje's only chance is knocking him out in the first few rounds so yeah he needs to come out swinging and I'm sure he will. It's going to be fun.
He was at the face-off wearing a mask and gloves. Fist bumped Dana (who had no mask or gloves). And was in a room filled with reporters. As much as I mentally need sports right now, this is such a bad look for the UFC.
He should have been pulled when he said a family member had it. Not quarantined, tested and then showing up to the weigh ins before the results were even back.
He told the UFC on Wednesday that he had a family member that tested positive so why was his fight not called then? Especially if he was around that person? I just think this is very poorly handled and I would not be surprised if this gets scrapped last second tomorrow.
