  1. Just bought two tickets to UFC 207. They were only $95 each. I feel like I got duped but it was on ticketmaster lol

haha Yeah I thought those tickets would be outrageous with two title fights and one that includes Rousey. That is crazy.

  3. Well the other day I looked on StubHub and they were like 400 bucks. Looked today and they were 130. Was about to buy those but then looked at Ticket Master real quick and found even cheaper. And the tickets are row B in the upper deck. So pretty solid seats.

That's crazy. Maybe they just tried to price gouge on StubHub when Ronda was announced for the card and then realized they weren't actually selling for that much....haha. But yeah, solid seats. A lot of people say that it's all in the atmosphere of being there anyways so I wouldn't care where I was at.

  5. I went to a couple when they were at the MGM Garden and both were insane. Connor KOing Aldo was the crazy crowd I've ever seen at a sporting event. It was insanely loud. And then I saw the Lawler-Condit fight which I rank as a top 3 fight of the year. But it was surprisingly not sold out. Still a fun night though.

I haven't been to one at T-Mobile yet. It's obviously way bigger so I hope the atmosphere is still as intense as the others.

I want to make it to a UFC event one of these days. I've been to a handful of Bellator and Strikeforce cards in St. Louis, and I even went to a random Titan FC card in Kansas City where I met Jake Ellenberger and Michael Johnson. Never been to a UFC event though.

My brother works for the commission that registers amateur MMA fighters across the country, and apparently the word around there is that the President of the ABC (who also happens to be the executive director of the Missouri Office of Athletics aka the state boxing commission) does not get along with Dana White all that well. Not that that is surprising, but it sounds like this guy wants all of these ridiculous terms and fees applied to the UFC and they won't have it. So pretty much, it's screwing our entire state out of having a UFC event......even though St. Louis has a champion.

  7. Dana is a turd with a huge ego and currently holds all the leverage in these situations. He doesn't need specific cities as much as they want his product. I'd be curious to what terms are an issue though.

Well, to be fair, this dude seems like he's also notoriously hard to deal with haha. The other organizations haven't seemed to have too much trouble here, though so yeah, I'm not exactly sure what the hold up could be. But literally, living in the middle of Missouri, I've never heard of a UFC card being within a 12 hour driving distance. Sucks.

Jon Jones suspended for 1 year after USADA ruling. I'm officially no longer a fan of this dude.

I still can't even figure out what he did, exactly.

Unfortunately for the LHW division, it's just going in circles. DC defends the belt against Rumble, then who does the winner defend the belt against? Gus? It's like all of the contenders from when the division was stacked have either retired, fallen off, or moved down to middleweight. There's basically no one left that hasn't been beaten badly by DC or Rumble.

Maybe they'll let DC move back up to HW and blow some people out up there.

Back dated to UFC 200 in July?

Yeah I agree with above. LHW used to be the most exciting division. Now it's the worst. It needs Jones bad. Just need Jones to need Jones

Did a quick Google and was backdated.
Gee sounds like even USADA know he was innocent but gone with the stance of can't be so reckless with what goes in your body. Dodgy viagra's

    "
Jones, 29, claimed he took a contaminated sexual-performance pill and USADA confirmed that the pill was tainted. But the arbitrators said in their decision that Jones didn't do his due diligence in determining whether or not what he was using was within the confines of the UFC's anti-doping policy and the WADA Code.

They found that his fault was "at the top end of the scale," because the only questions Jones asked about the particular tablet was toward the teammate who gave it to him and whether or not it was effective from a sexual-performance standpoint."

Chuck hit it on the head:

"Jones — who still has to go before that same NAC panel, which could double-down on his suspension — just let it all hang out. He didn’t even try and mask things with proper code. He didn’t call it a "Richard Pill," for instance, which would have been a subtle nod to the arbiters that he has his own version of a tent-pole event. He didn't say, "They call me Jonny Bones Jones for a reason," either, just to break some ice. Instead he just hammered them with "dick pill," which brought out ire of the panel, and had them looking up synonyms for foul-smelling cheese. "

    and this is good too:

"Here’s the thing, though. USADA was brought in to catch cheaters. It is doing that, but in the process it is also exposing careless decisions, which is a subgenre of the same thing. Jones wasn’t cheating, which is good. Jones continues to be Jones, which is kind of the lingering problem."

It's frustrating, dude is ultra talented but can't get out of his own way, even when he admits fault. He should have been on 205, now we'll never get the rematch with DC we all wanted.

  16. I guess they aren't replacing Rashad Evans with anyone.

I thought I read that both he and Kennedy get their win bonuses anyway, so that's nice.

  18. it's in the works for 206

Kinda curious about the theory that JBJ might need help in that department because his body cannot create testosterone anymore because of roids

Yeah it's unfortunate to always be lead to think the worst about people, but in the case of steroid usage, you can almost always see the correlations... Heart problems like with Kimbo and Randleman, reproductive issues from depleted testosterone levels like with Jones, Anderson, and Chael, etc. I am not an expert on the effects of steroids, but it seems like people who get popped usually have similar issues, you know?

It'll be interesting, and probably unfortunate, to see how it plays out in the future for Bones and others that abused steroids.

  22. Who is everyone picking this weekend? I'm about to make a couple parlays but the odds are so even on most of the fights.

Card is waaay too even on paper for me to mess with betting haha. But I'm going to say...

Conor (tough pick as he could get smothered, but I think he finds a way to land that shot)
    Wonderboy
    Karolina for the upset
    Weidman (hopefully)
    Cerrone
    Rocky
    Frankie
    Johnson for the upset
    Natal
    Luque
    Miller
    Carmouche

Yeah, after saying those out loud...I was not confident in a single one.

  24. I think I'm going....

    Connor
    Woodley
Karolina (glad I'm not the only one)
    Weidman
    Cerrone
    Pennington
    Edgar
    Khabib

I love Joanna and she's a proven badass, but I just think people act like she's untouchable. It's a winnable fight for Karolina, I think. Also not overlooking Woodley even though I still think Wonderboy is a terrible stylistic match up for him. I called Woodley beating Lawler so I know that he's capable.

The big one on here that I'm going with is Michael Johnson beating Khabib. Like Joanna, people seem to talk about Khabib like he's unstoppable but I wouldn't be surprised if Johnson gets a TKO. Johnson and Woodley are both Missouri boys so I wouldn't be too mad if they both got it done.
