  1. Yoel absolutely did not deserve to win that and the 49-46 judge got it right

Not a huge fan of either guy, but man oh man, Yoel is cringey as hell

  11. I really don't think Romero is interested in winning fights anymore tbh

It's weird to yell about inactivity when you yourself did nothing to engage and make it a fight. haha. But honestly Izzy was just as bad with the cringe. He seemed like the weirdness of the fight and probably the booing of the crowd (and bizarre support of Romero) threw off his swagger. That post-fight speech was terrible and then he had some weird gimmick to go find Costa who wasn't even in the crowd anymore. haha.

As far as the card goes, that was like watching Woodley vs. Wonderboy I followed immediately by Woodley vs. Wonderboy II.

It sucks that two exciting guys didn't produce a good fight, but oh well, I get it. Two guys who work best off of counterstrikes usually don't end up with much activity. Not sure why anyone is protesting that decision either.

Romero’s game plan to counter punch a counter puncher didn’t work too well..

That was the kind of fight where there was so little to actually get excited about, I really couldn’t find it in me to care who got the decision. Didn’t have a dog in the fight, so I’d have walked away the same amount of disappointed either way.

I really like both Yoel and Izzy so I just wanted a good fight but nope!

This was the ONE time I actually agreed with the stupid phrase "You have to BEAT the champ to beat the champ". Like, if neither guy actually fights, just default to the champ retaining the belt and pretend the whole thing never happened.

I was really surprised to see people upset by the decision and also all of the boos for Izzy and cheers for Yoel at the end. Yoel literally stood still in round 1 and threw like two shots.

Apparently this was the reason Ortega decided to assault somebody in the crowd when KZ was in the bathroom.

I get that these guys have a lot of pride, but if you want to flex your chest maybe step up to the guy who actually said the comments, not the translator when the guy who's fight you dropped out of is taking a pee.

Yeah I don't know what Brian was thinking. Not a good look at all, and only gets the casual public on Chan's side.

Also, really didn't enjoy Dana's biased opinion and harsh criticism of Yoel in the post-fight conference. Neither guy did much, but I felt like Yoel landed the bigger shots and a takedown. Izzy utilized kicks only once he got clipped a few times, and clearly was thrown off by Yoel not doing what everyone else has against him. The majority of the MMA world on twitter said they thought Yoel won the early rounds. Both guys are at fault. Paulo Costa getting interviewed at the conference is extremely bizarre as well.

I don’t disagree but at the same time, those leg kicks had him buckled several times and did more damage than anything Yoel offered. So...I don’t know. Neither guy wanted to make it a fight out of the principle of not giving their opponent the advantage. It was like they both wanted to show how little they were bothered by the other guy.

Again, it’s just sad that their post-fight stare down/confrontation ended up on the highlight reel because there was nothing else to show.

yeah it felt like there was more aggression in those few seconds after the bell than the entire fight.

That overhand Yoel landed in the first I think really surprised Izzy and had him thinking "I cannot let that land again." He had a nice welt on his face too. Yoel's leg certainly looked tore up, but yeah I can't credit either guy much. Izzy feels more disappointing in that he hyped himself up and how he planned to finish Yoel, but when faced with a puzzle he had no answers to, became content to coast through his first title defense in safe mode.
