In my half assed opinion. Yoel is the scariest dude in MMA. Total freakshow. Brock level of freakshow.


Rooting hard for Izzy but would be cool to see Yoel at the top at his age

 

I was thinking that Yoel would have the distinction as the oldest UFC champion to date if he were to win, but a quick fact check reminded me that Randy was in fact 44 when he last held a title at Heavyweight, which he lost to Lesnar.

 

Yoel post-fight championship promo would be so so so good

 

This fight is so exciting that i'm completely overlooking how good of a match-up Zhang vs Joanna is.

 

Can you imagine Romero Costa 2 being 5 rounds with a belt on the line?

 

I love Joanna but just feel like she's lost a step these past 18 months or so. Can't say I know a lot about Zhang though.

 

Izzy/Costa would be outstanding as well

edit: Poirier vs Hooker was also set today for May 16th.

 

lol the skill levels are so separated in the lightweight division. Hooker got destroyed by Barbosa a year ago and almost lost to Paul Felder like 2 weeks ago. I'm a Dan Hooker fan but I mean cmon. He should be fighting Cowboy if anyone. Dustin should be rematching Conor or Gaethje.

 

I can’t even do any of this now at age 28.

 

The UFC's next big thing

 

At the face-offs today Joanna was doing her typical trash talk promising to finish Zhang.

Zhang laughed in her face and told her to “shut up.” It was hilarious.

I don't know, I'm super excited for both match ups tomorrow. Both fights have potential to be classics, but overall I'm thinking that both champs with be too sharp for the challengers.

Side note - Joanna kind of reminds me of Aldo in that she's still really, really good but also looks like she's just not quite as solid as the very top anymore. Like maybe she just lost about a half-step. I think Zhang is just a little more devastating with her striking which will be the difference.

 

I love DC actively rooting for Khabib to lose

 

You gotta give it to Aldo, he agrees to tough fights all the time.
