This is apparently the same doctor that told Michael Chandler that he had a broken leg in his fight at MSG lol
We're gonna get a legendary post fight conference from Dana tonight lmao. Hopefully they run this back in Vegas sometime early next year.
That fight was definitely living up to the hype, but overall the main card lost the momentum of the prelims (save for Kevin Lee). The ending of the main event was just an “of course it did...” moment for me.
I half expected him to say something about that during his post-fight interview... this is good though!
That was such a stupid decision from the doctor. They controlled the bleeding. Both his eyes were open. He was coherent. I don't understand.
Familiar octagon face, unfamiliar story: Fighting through the eyes of Dr. David Watson This is actually an article about the doctor I worked with and he even uses an example of an eye cut haha I miss hearing stories from this guy.
I really do think Nate was going to turn it on in the last rounds, but there was no indication that Jorge was about to fade. He looked so good at every point in that fight.
Going to assume they're going to do Masvidal/Conor. I think a rematch would make sense and Dana was pretty dismissive of that
I don’t think we’re gonna get an immediate rematch. What happens if Nate wins? We gotta do a 3rd fight? Plus, Dana is ready to push the hell out of Masvidal. He’s gonna get whatever fight he wants and you heard Masvidal. He wants the biggest money fight. Dana’s dream is probably Masvidal vs Colby for the title.
Fun night last night at MSG. This was my 3rd UFC event this year and it was by far the best one of the 3. Disappointing ending in the main event but understandable cause cuts near the eye like that can (apparently) be very dangerous. That cut Nate had looked very similar the cut Covington got in the lead up to his fight with Robbie which almost canceled the fight. Masvidal’s performance was stellar. He’s just leveled up so much, he’s gonna be getting huge fights from now on without a doubt. Till vs Gastelum was underwhelming to say the least. I was expecting a more exciting fight, but Till fought smart and he really needed that win. Rest of the fights were awesome. A lot of good moments. My seats were awesome and had a great view of the octagon and the whole arena. Here is a short video I took during Diaz’s walkout.
dude thats a great view, is MSG just so steep that the people in front of you don't block you that high up?? or were you staning for that shot?
Yeah it’s pretty steep. There are technically 4 different levels. I was in the first row of the 400 section (which is actually lower than the 300 section for some reason). So I didn’t have to worry about people sitting in front of me. I was sitting when I took that video. Had a perfect view of the cage and didn’t have to look at the screen at all during the fights. Was really happy with my seats especially for the price I paid.
Yep! 20 minutes outside of Philadelphia. I can get to New York by car from my house in an hour and a half if traffic allows.
Between Dana’s comments about Corey Anderson last night about his “cry baby bullshit” and telling him he can’t demand anything in the division and now Anderson saying if the UFC doesn’t give him a title fight then they can cut him I feel like he’ll be fighting Bader in Bellator within the next year.
It might be the angle, but the 244 cut looks a lot deeper than the 241 one. No problem with the doctor stopping the fight. Don't want an immediate rematch either. In my opinion, an immediate rematch takes away from how special this was. Let it be a one off for now and have these guys move on to other things.
Agreed. Plus, I think this fight still sells even without any title shot implications or anything like that. You can essentially make it any time regardless of the title picture and it will still be huge just because of who these guys are. I would be down with a rematch down the line (and who knows, it might have even MORE hype in the future), but yeah, an immediate rematch kind of cheapens the event, IMO.
