You guys see the whole situation with MVP and Mirgliotta? Not a big MVP fan but sorta seems questionable on Mirgliotta’s end.
It's definitely Miragliotta's responsibility to withhold his personal opinions in a sporting event. But MVP is not the first MMA fighter to be deducted a point, and I think it was warranted. Kiely is also being fined for his actions. MVP is a total fuckwad and was beyond showboating. Him mocking his opponent throughout the fight, and after KOing him was trashy. After dancing, mimicking him hitting the mat and stumbling, he then walks up to his downed opponent and starts talking shit to him. Honestly always felt like he was over-hyped, and way too cocky for someone who has a super padded record of dudes that were easy wins for him. He couldn't finish Daley, who is past his prime, got cracked by Lima, and then comes back acting like Mayweather. Kiely looked like he had no idea what he was doing in there, and on the ground didn't even try to move. Kiely has had 5 professional fights. Fight somebody who poses a real threat. Guaranteed he gets finished, again.
NNnnnnnooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. He was holding his own for the first two minutes, but was a bit too relaxed underneath a guy with a lot of power.
Hermansson put a lot into those early takedown attempts and now he looks a bit gassed. Edit: And there it is! What a year for Jared. TKO's on Branch, Silva, and Hermansson back to back.
What a fun (but kinda weird) card. Man, Jared is looking sharper and sharper every time out now. He’s definitely in the mix for sure. This was definitely a stiff test and he passed easily. Maybe put him against Costa for next?
Great action this weekend. Saint Preux and that choke. Madsen impressed. Cannonier just hits so damn hard, the guy is a force. Bellator Bellator'd with elder McKee in that slop fest, but the other prelims were good. Ava Knight looked good coming from boxing. Higo had a great comeback. Agazarm got good cage time, but still needs a little more experience. Benson Henderson got another win and the featherweight grand prix is great.
Anyone watched Daniel Cormiers series he has on ESPN+ where he breaks down fighters? I heard its excellent so im watching the one he did on McGregor right now
Those are excellent. The Khabib breakdown is a real eye opener. It's one of my favorite thing's ESPN has done, now if they just made ESPN+ more user friendly...
Can't say I'll get the PPV, the card is thin, but Whittaker/Adesanya is going to be tremendous. I'm leaning Whittaker, but both are extremely solid. Iaquinta/Hooker is a toss up as well, Al's been down there for a while now, so I don't think he'll have too much of a problem out of the gate, guess I'd lean towards him as well. Tuivasa can impress with a good performance. Justin Tafa is one I'm keeping an eye on, his brother fights in Glory, interested to see how he looks. Anderson needs a win. I'll probably be watching GGG, which has the potential to be rather interesting in it's own right.
I think this card is a definite buy. Rob is one of my favorite fighters, and I am rooting for him. Izzy is a worthy candidate of the title. Potential to be fight of the year. Iaquinta and Hooker have solid enough records for me to want to watch. Holm vs Pennington would’ve made it beyond exciting.
