So I crashed quickly after I got out of work and watched the card. But the whole card was great to watch! Tristan Connelly stole the show. There was a clear size difference between him and Pereira, and Pereira's showboating made watching him get beat down by a smaller guy that much more satisfying. He was able to slip away from Connelly multiple times just because of his size, and it still did nothing for him. Duff showed some great resilience and power, but yeah, definitely seemed like he was looking to duck out of the fight after what looked like a rather minor eye poke. I am all for Gaethje vs McGregor.
Came down with a nasty cold this weekend and was asleep with the fights on but luckily woke up right before the main event. Gaethje has been looking phenomenal. I’m interested in the Conor matchup. Honestly I don’t see Conor beating him.
Saw Ariel posting about Cain doing wrestling. Never really understood the whole pro wrestling thing but I will say it’s pretty impressive how a guy his size can move like that.
not bad for literally his second match. Just about every promotion in the world has offered him contracts or have at least communicated with him (WWE, NJPW, AEW)
I say the same thing when I see him fight. He does not look like he should be remotely as athletic as he is. Not just strong, but he's agile and has cardio for days.
Here's a list of the random MMA news for the day due to the UFC 244 presser - Dana said they're doing Stipe/DC III once Stipe is healed :( - They're legitimately making a BMF belt and they'll debut it the week of the fight - End of the year card has THREE! title fights on it My own personal head ass prediction: The December card is going to be headlined by Jon Jones vs Yoel Romero (yes, coming off a loss at middleweight) 0% chance they let Colby/Usman headline a card. Also doesn't seem likely they'll fight this year at all. Colby supposedly just declined the fight again.
If they really are doing 2 more title fights on the 245 card, it definitely could be Jones but I’m doubtful. Handing Romero a title shot like so would really be surprising and non-sensical. Though, I don’t have another fighter in mind since the Stipe fight is definitely not happening with him injured. My guesses would be Cejudo vs Sterling for the Bantamweight title (Benavidez was recently complaining that Cejudo hasn’t talked of defending the flyweight title) and Holloway vs Volkanovski or McGregor. Conor isn’t deserving, but they’d hand him the shot anyways. Volkanovski actually has earned the shot.
Alright seriously guys, can someone tell me a way in which like, my ig story comes up on explorer or something like that? Cause this is not a joke. Derek Brunson is now showing up in my story viewers, and this one was within minutes of my story going up. Possibly also looking for #unsunggrinders?
Do you use hashtags, check into locations, and stuff like that frequently? I know Instagram automatically adds people to specific categories based on their general interests so if you’re actively tagging your posts with mma related tags then you could have been added to their mma algorithm. I don’t have ig anymore but I remember my buddy always having random locals looking at his stories because he was always featured in the local story due to his locations tags.
Haha I am gonna send him the exact same message I sent Chandler. I don’t think I’ve ever used a hashtag for mma for a post? I follow mmajunkie, ufc, maybe one other account and then quite a few fighters. But that’s it. It’s really bizarre to me and I feel like there has to be something at play here I’m not catching, and that Mike didn’t explain to me lol.
