What a great main card! Every fight was awesome.

I was super impressed with Showtime. What a statement. And holy hell does 145 look like it will be a fun division for some time.

Apparently Ruthless is calling Dana everyday asking for a fight. Cowboy responded on Twitter suggesting the two fight at MSG.

I would very much like to see Cowboy v. Ruthless. So much violence!

Yesterday was the first episode of TUF 24. I don't normally get jazzed for TUF anymore, but this season's wrinkle has me intrigued. The first fight was a solid one. I hope whoever ends up winning doesn't just get steamrolled by Mighty Mouse.

There is a spoiler on who will be facing MM.

Also, anyone here listen to Fighter & The Kid podcast or here Cerrone on Joe Rogan a couple of days ago?

    Just saying.

I haven't watched TUF in years.

Sounds like we're getting an announcement soon for Robbie Lawler-Donald Cerrone at UFC 205 in NYC. FUCK. YES.

Not sure why, but this feels like a complete one sided beat down.

I'm talking about Lawler beating the holy fuck out of Cerrone. I'm a fan of both, probably Cerrone more, but still.

I dunno. Lawler is typically a slow starter while Cerrone is the guy that comes out guns a blazing in a lot of cases. I like Cerrone early but if it drags to the 3rd, that is when I may start to fear a bit for Cerrone.

    I'm stoked for this fight.

True. Cerrone would probably submit Lawler if he was to win.

I definitely wouldn't count Cerrone out of anything. He's got such precise striking that I think he could give Lawler some problems. I also think Cerrone probably has the better chin at this point (he seems to mainly get hurt when people go to his body).

I also think he's crafty enough to trick Lawler into thinking he's going to stand, then taking him down and submitting him. Lawler has great wrestling, but sometimes it's easier to get taken down by a striker because you don't even consider it being a possibility.

My counter argument would be Lawler vs Rory...when was the last time Cerrone has been in a war like that? If Cerrone isn't putting a beating on someone for multiple rounds, he's getting beat for 30 seconds and turtles and is TKO'd.

Cerrone is also known to have the "Florian effect", where he choked in high stakes match ups.

I wouldn't disagree with anything you said there, but my point was more that Cerrone has the ability to make this his fight. He usually doesn't get in fire fights like that and is more tactical. He will more than likely fight Lawler more closely to the way Carlos Condit did (sans the last round) than Rory.

I fear that Lawler may be on the decline in terms of being able to take a shot. Just like Condit said in his last fight, he was baffled at how Maia was able to rock him with one punch. Those wars will add up. Just like how Hendo and Shogun weren't the same after fighting each other.

Yea, I think Cerrone will use his range during this fight for sure.

Lawler isn't know for leg kicks or grappling, so that's perfect for Cerrone. Even if it does go to the ground, Cerrone is obviously superior. I just hope he can handle the power of Lawler.

This discussion just reminded me of something. I can't believe that Lawler and Condit had that amazing fight that was razor close and was highly debated...only for both of them to lose their next fight in under two minutes.

And both in about as different of a way possible.

Ya know, I still want to see any combination of Wonderboy / Cerrone / Condit. I really don't know what would be the most technical out of those fights, maybe Condit / Wonderboy?

  18. lol there's a crazy rumor going around the GSP-McGregor is the main event for 205

I'm not believing GSP is coming back until he is physically in the cage. Just the way things are these days. Haha.

Will McGregor even be able to be ready/cleared by 205? Nevermind that stupid GSP rumor (which I have also seen)....I'm not sure he would be cleared in time to even prep for a fight then regardless of who it is against.

GSP wants Reebok out and Under Armor in. I highly doubt the UFC will drop their main sponsor for one fighter.

Going Reem, Werdum and Gall. As much as I love Faber, I'm not sure how this fight is going to go for him, especially knowing that he (probably) won't get a title shot again.
