Coming from watching Boxing regularly, watching most fighters stand-up game is painful. Obviously there are a lot more variables in play with MMA, but still!
Nice! I actually picked Cat on that, so Sanchez and Zingano have been my only misses :/ Could have made some decent money off of the underdog Gastelum. The Cain fight was a no brainer. Terrible stylistic match up for Browne. He looked awesome though, throwing wheel kicks even.
were those "CM Punk" chants I heard? (this was after they had already stood back up and were just facing each other for like 40 seconds so it wasn't "stand them up")
DC played the safest fight he could against one of the best strikers. I guess you really can't hold it against him, but especially not being able to really even rock someone so much lighter than him, this was not an impressive win. Though he's never really been that impressive to me to begin with.
That was the least beastly version of DC I've seen. Still won very decisively against the GOAT but still weird that he couldn't really seem to rock him with how easily Anderson gets tagged nowadays. Oh well. It is what it is.
Card has been kind of lackluster outside of the first three prelims. Seems like these fights are so evenly matched that they end up being so strategic which sometimes happen when cards are so good on paper. No one's taking any risks because they don't want to lose in front of all of these people. They're all playing it kinda safe to make sure they win (7 decisions and lots of booing). Can't blame them, but boy....I haven't been too entertained.
Yeeeeah. Three betting upsets out of five fights is hard to get right. Haha. At least Nunes and Velasquez delivered, but really, the card wasn't all I thought it would be. Definitely been way more exciting cards recently.
I had a $20 parlay with Nunes, Brock, Pena, Edgar My buddy told me "Edgar is the lock of the century" and it swayed me. Thanks.
Haha. I picked Edgar as well, but in no way was I confident in that decision. Same with picking against Brock. Frankie and Mark are always themselves (never look better or worse) so you know what you're getting. Aldo and Brock were wildcards because you didn't know how they were going to look. Aldo was coming off a 13-second KO and Brock hadn't fought in 5 years. It was a tough call.
