For whatever reason, I think my favorite St-Pierre moment was him beating Koscheck the second time. I hope that he takes up the pro grappling scene.
Not to mention GSP seems like such a nice guy. Out of all of the Joe Rogan Podcasts I've seen, GSP's might be my favorite.
Glad he's going out on his own terms, but honestly, it makes sense for his personality. I don't think he could handle NOT being the best, so he was never going to be one who kept going well past his prime, losing to guys in the fringe-top 10 trying to get that elusive "one last win" (BJ, Anderson, Chuck...) Or you could be like Nick Diaz still crying on Instagram about how he beat you 6 years ago.
He’s the absolute best and nicest. Never been anyone more humble in the sport. The guy couldn’t even force himself to talk shit even when he tried. He collects dinosaur fossils for fun. Loves water polo. He is a fitness perfectionist and talks to his fans more than anyone in the sport. There is no one to love more in the sport. Retiring on his own terms, and not chasing another fight is the last greatest feat he has and he’s doing it perfectly. It’s another win for him.
Dude I see those comments on Ariel’s page. What the fuuuuuck. Like stop being a coked out asshole and just be humble for one day?! You have the rest of your bitter life to talk shit on twitter can’t you just take one day off Nick?
Must be miserable living with that much pettiness and saltiness lol every fight they've lost wasn't their fault for whatever reason or they really actually won. It's amazing.
UFC either called Tony’s bluff when he said he wasn’t interested in what everyone assumed was the Max fight Or there’s more to this IG post he put up
So it would seem that Ferguson isn’t game to be the Max Holloway stepping stone. My guess is he feels deserving of the Conor pay day too now and is holding out for the offer, instead of taking an interim title shot with Max. Silly of him to let Dustin take it. Not that he shouldn’t be there either it’s just interesting.
With the way this shit has been going, I wouldn’t doubt if Tony still somehow manages to get the shot at Khabib before the interim champ does. This sport and this division in particular has been a hard one to predict.
I'm excited for the fight and I guess I'm happy for Dustin but what the fuck? like... this shit should be pretty simple. Dustin fights Tony. Winner gets Khabib. Conor fights Cowboy (actually should be Iaquinta but whatever). Al can get the winner for #1 contender. Loser gets loser of Dustin/Tony. Max fights Frankie. But that's too easy and doesn't involve the terms "super fight" or "double champ" so why even bother...
Max is at a point where he should be taking title defenses, or title shots. He’s earned that. Confirmed today by Dana that Tony refused the Max/I-LW title match. So he’s either holding out for Conor or for Khabib. I wouldn’t expect to see him fighting any time soon. Regardless of whatever nonsense he tweets.
I think it’s more odd that they’ve pretty much had a log jam at LW ever since Conor came into the picture but they still force Max into the mix, do another interim belt, etc. There are plenty of contenders and sensible fights during a time where the champion is out of commission, but now they’re sliding Max right in there. I think Max out of anyone deserves a super fight.....which is why an interim shot seems pointless. They are determined to gridlock every division lol
