Of course he will. I'm more interested if Rogan will stick around, he said recently he will leave if the UFC is sold, so who knows!
I think we'll see some changes for sure, but for some reason, I'm just thinking it will be business as usual for the most part.
Selfishly, I hope they change everything to East Coast time. That would be a beautiful beautiful thing.
I don't think Joe is gonna commentate much longer regardless of the sale. Gonna have more fight companions at least.
Apparently Lesnar has been given permission to use his WWE entrance music for UFC 200 lol Only thing to make it better is Heyman coming out with him.
Who are you guys picking in Rory vs. Wonderboy? I said after the Hendricks fight that I thought Wonderboy ran through all of the welterweights besides Rory.........then they made that fight. I think stylistically Rory and Demian are the toughest match ups for him because they aren't just straight up wrestler-boxers like Tyron, Hendricks, Jake, etc. Rory has a pretty slick striking game and doesn't just rush into anything, so he's trickier to deal with than most of the guys in that division. My gut is telling me that Stephen will be able to frustrate Rory and get out of harm's way, but I know Rory will make it a battle no matter what. My pick is Wonderboy, but if Rory drags this fight into deeper waters and does too much damage on the ground, I won't be surprised.
This is a really tough one for me, honestly. Wonderboy has been really impressive. But Rory can throw down. I think I am going to go with Rory. I also love the thought of an impressive Rory win on his last fight under contract with UFC.
I love it too aside from the fact that he has lost to Lawler twice in recent memory. Even though he could very well be the best fighter in the division, it doesn't have that same epicness if he leaves because people will always look at him as the guy who couldn't get by the champ.
Yeah, but oh what could have been. He was winning on the cards, if I recall correctly, that second fight. And then he just took that one shot that just obliterated his nose.
I hated seeing that too because it was very obvious that his mind was telling him "KEEP GOING" but his body had taken so much damage that he just physically couldn't do it.
What's more shocking? Fedor still being alive after that first round or the fact that the judges awarded him with the win?
Bosse /O'Connell was just as amazing as I thought it would be. Honestly it sucks that either guy had to lose that because that was the most even fight I've ever seen. If I were a judge, I would have give the first and second rounds as 10-8s, one a piece. That third round was too hard to score (they both landed 31 significant strikes, too). Honestly, I would have given it to Sean because I thought he landed the harder shots and controlled the center a little more, but Steve's were sharper and cleaner so it was really a coin toss.
Cerrone was fantastic. If that version showed up at lightweight, he'd be the champ. If he stays at Welterweight give him the Hendricks vs. Gastelum winner I reckon.
This sounds a little superstitious, but I really think Cerrone can't perform to his full potential if he takes more than a couple of months off (in other words, a full camp for most people). It seemed like he was on such a tear fighting as often as he could, and then he had to sit out and wait for RDA and he came out flat. Since then he's been pretty active and been his usual self despite moving up to fight heavier guys. The guy is probably the best fighter in the organization without ever having the belt.
This booing during the fight is stupid, but the booing during the post-fight interviews is fucking embarrassing. No cheers for Rory even and a lot of aggressive shouting during his interview. When you get two tacticians at the top of the division, it's not going to be a brawl. Sorry. Fight went pretty much how I thought. Called WB winning, but I really thought Rory would mix up the conventional takedown attempts. I knew his striking style wouldn't allow WB to unload on him like he does on everyone else, but his ticket to winning was obviously in the clinch/ground. I realize Thompson is just hard to get ahold of, but in order to get in the best strikes against a guy like that, you have to create those scrambles and get in close.
