Really hoping they put Izzy/Jacare on the Aussie card with the title fight. Use Jacare as the alternate in case someone pulls out but fuck that'd be such a good fight.
DC talking about Brock... what a dodge. fight Jones again... no one wants to see you fight 5-3 Brock.
Still don’t know how people don’t like DC. This fight was really high risk, low reward so I’m happy he took it and got through it. He could have easily gotten KO’ed but even if he did what he did tonight, people were always going to be like “Meh he was supposed to win.”
I still think he's gonna fight Jones. They can both say they don't want it. It'll happen. Jones will move up to fight him at heavyweight.
I don't dislike DC... just the aspect of Jones. DC is clearly good. No doubt about it. He's truly a heavyweight champ.
Besides not liking his personality, DC wouldn’t defend against Stipe again but took this fight. That ain’t right! Amazing fight between Weidman and Souza. Chris is an excellent striker, but doesn’t seem to have the stopping power he did once did. Left his head open and Souza started capitalizing once he knew he could eat some of his short range punches. Dan was beyond late with that call. I’d be fine with a rule that a fight is over if a fighter tombstones to the mat.
I didn’t see the fight (ugh) but it sounded like Jacare put in the prep work with his bodyshots in the first two rounds, and when they started to add up and Chris started reacting to them (pulling his hands lower) Jacare started firing at the head. Pretty awesome.
It’s not that he wouldn’t defend against Stipe. It’s that he wouldn’t on a few weeks notice. Hell, if I had to fight Stipe I’d want as much notice as possible too, no matter how good I thought I was! He knew how tonight would play out, so kudos to him for taking the risk and getting paid.
I really hope Jacare gets the next shot. I’d love to see him rematch either guy. The guy’s record is incredible and the only person he’s decisively lost to in the UFC is Whittaker. The fights against Gastelum and Romero were close but I had him just barely winning. So it kind of sucks that those fights have held him back from getting a title shot because he’s easily the best fighter on the roster to have never gotten one.
this is extremely dumb. Putting the main card on ESPN+ after having prelims on ESPN sucks. Putting prelims after the "main event" is the worst idea imaginable if that's what they're planning to do.
Switching between tv, apps, and websites is why I don't watch a lot of WWE content. Its just a pain in the ass.
