Sheesh. Mayhem Miller arrested yet again? I feel like he’s a pretty clear example of CTE. Back when he was fighting regularly (and hosting Bully Beatdown haha), he seemed whacky but still a competent and intelligent fighter. He’s basically been off the rails ever since so I’m not sure if it’s brain trauma, drug abuse, a mental disorder, or a combination of all three...but regardless, it’s sad to see the way his life turned out.

It's pretty sad looking back on it because there seems to be a mixture of things going on there. He could very well be bipolar and not getting the help he needs, he could have some substance abuse problems, or he could have some issues caused by CTE.

It could be one or all of those things, but any of them could explain his impulsive and strange behavior. Either way, he clearly hasn't been in a good place for years now.

Both companies have a lot to gain with this trade. It's interesting to see the UFC willing to play ball. It's not a bad move by any means. Askren is over ONE, he beat the best they had to offer and wants to fight the best available to him in the UFC. MMA fans will love this. DJ dominated that division for years and has nothing to gain chasing the title he held for so long or fighting in weight classes he's not comfortable in. win/win in my eyes.

Askren’s style might be a bit boring sometimes (pretty similar to Khabib’s) but he’s a fun one to throw into the mix. As we’ve said here, he’s not some newcomer chasing after the belt (especially with Tyron at the top) so he’s just going to be taking big fights and messing up everyone else’s title plans.
