Jon Jones vs. Alexander Gustafsson for the Lightweight Title Cris Cyborg vs. Amanda Nunes for the Womens Featherweight title Both official for UFC 232
Gus has 5 fights since the last time they fought. Jones has 4. Crazy to think about considering how much time Jones has been out due to being a dumb ass. Seems like Gus can’t get over injuries the last few years.
Right, so what are the odds he’s at 100% every time? Probably not likely. Hah. Although I gave Gus the first fight, I really do believe Jones when he said he didn’t take it seriously.
Someone should tell 50 Cent the UFC isn’t holding Khabib’s money. It’s the Nevada Athletic Commission. “I’ll deal with Dana and your contract later” is hilarious. If Khabib tries to team up with 50 and break his contract the UFC will sue him for everything he’s ever made.
anyone else here find Cruz as annoying, intolerable and condescending a commentator as I do? just wanna know that I’m not alone in that. sure, he’s knowledgeable but he just rubs me the wrong way most of the time
He tries to one up Rogan’s observations, and tries to spin shit that doesn’t always make sense sometimes. When Cruz did the ‘Conor’s just trying to wear him out. He hopes he punches himself out. That’s why he’s not wasting the energy to try to get up’ Hearing Rogan just come back with, ‘He’s not getting up because he’s getting his face bashed in, and he can’t.’ Cringe.
I like the guy and I love his analysis, but he is best by himself for sure. Whenever he’s with the other commentators, he loves to point out how wrong they are and a lot of the time it feels like he tries to bully Anik when all he’s trying to do is the color commentating. His need to be right overshadows his insight sometimes. Like what was up with telling Rogan that Conor wasn’t actually gassed because “he didn’t take any damage”? He was CLEARLY tired, but Cruz just really wanted to argue with Joe. Side note - did anyone see Mitrione get tooled last night? Wow. I had Bader winning but a 30-24 with essentially 0 significant strikes landed against him was...surprising.
Chael’s comments on what Mitrione said regarding light heavyweights like himself and Bader fighting in the Heavyweight GP were hilarious. Then he lost so it made it even better.
Hmm makes DC accepting the Lewis fight less of a ballsy move and more of a strategic one. Haha. He wouldn’t be risking this huge payday as we thought if Brock had already put it in jeopardy anyway.
Honestly, with DC taking the fight I assumed Brock popped. Chael is gonna Chael in the big fights. He was game, but he got cooked in the first ten seconds, surprised he performed as well as he did.
