Holy shit. I have such mixed emotions about this. I want to see him fight again but I hate that he keeps getting away with slaps on the wrist. The timing of this seems extremely suspicious too. I don’t like that at all.
Very large detail on him getting off “loose” Dude outed someone and got a shorter suspension. Is USADA real? Lmfao
Yeah that's exactly what I said when I saw that. Either that or they're throwing Joanna/Valentina together super last minute.
I’m inclined to believe Ariel’s tweet but at the last press conference he tweeted we weren’t getting Khabib/Conor news because it wasn’t done. And then Dana hit us with the promo trailer
I love Jon Jones. He has always been my favorite. As somebody who's been sober for 3 years I empathize for him but I just don't know what the truth is
Might keep him from working at the gas station lol I seriously burst out laughing from time to time just thinking about this
We are dealing with the promotion business, a business only as good as it's top stars. There is always, always favoritism in these business's. It's not right but, it's not surprising.
I agree with Luke Thomas’ point as sad as it is... No matter how many times Jones messes up and people claim to be done with him or the UFC claims they’ll never rely on him again...everyone is just going to forget by the time he’s ready to fight. Again, not “fair” but just what happens.
*not my post, got it from reddit “Has USADA become too reliant on the UFC's revenue stream? I just checked out their tests for the first quarter testing for this year on their website. • Tested 1693 athletes • Carried out a total of 2285 tests I quickly loaded into an excel sheet how many of them were MMA athletes and what % of total tests taken were for MMA. Here are the results: • 504 athletes from MMA • 721 tests for MMA • 68 sports tested in total These are slightly worrying numbers. One single sport, MMA, accounts for: • 30% of total athletes tested (29.76%) • 32% of all tests done (31.55%) • MMA accounts for 1.4% of the amount of sports tested (1 out of 68) Bear in mind this is from Q1 2018, so the numbers might not be consistent across the year. I don't have time to do this now as I am at work. But if it is consistent, MMA accounts for around 30% of its service.... anyone will tell you that a client that delivers over 30% of your total business for your company has A LOT of sway.”
Hmm that is pretty strange but I wonder if a lot of it has to do with how involved the organizations want USADA to be. Like, could some of those organizations/sports just pay USADA to test their athletes once a year or a minimum number of times (to appear as if they're doing something to prevent doping) while the UFC is trying to go above and beyond to appear clean, so they pay for more?
That's one to make. I'm fairly indifferent on the Jon Jones news. Fully expect this press conference to turn into a shit show.
