That was a nice submission; props to Till though for lasting that long. Going to need some Tylenol for the next several days, haha
Love him or hate him, this is why he’s a dominant champ. That finish had everything: slick boxing that dropped him, dominant wrestling to keep control and then a submission to wrap it up. No idea why Till was a favorite, but that kid is going to be even more amazing with a bit more experience.
I’d honestly rather see Covington get his shot considering all that fuckery with his interim title. Not a fan, but he honestly might bring some interest to Woodley by being the villain. Also, I know Woodley hits like a truck, but I can’t help but think that Till could have dealt with the shot a little better had he not cut 1/3 his body weight beforehand. I’d rather see him go up to 185 from now on.
Kind of dawned on me that Woodley is one of my favorite active fighters. Hope he sandblasts Covington.
His dominance over Till was impressive. The first time I’ve felt that way about Woodley in a long time, probably since Lawler. I am totally rooting for him against Covington if/when that fight happens.
It's gotta be the fight to make. Tyron seems keen for MSG so they should probably go for that. Although I wonder if they try and get GSP instead of Covington.
That would be amazing. I would be way more interested in seeing GSP return to fight Tyron instead of Khabib.
Khabib is a great fighter, just not my favorite. His record is impressive, but also filled with a bunch of no names. Not just being a huge fan already, but I don’t think he can beat GSP. I think Tyron is a more entertaining match. It’d be in GSP’s more natural weight class. It also would be the first time a fighter gets back to back title shots in two different weight classes if I’m not mistaken? Just more notches on his belt and makes more sense to me.
Yeah I think my preference would be Woodley too since it's his weight class. It's interesting that there's not much age difference either. It feels like GSP is way older but it's only a year or so. If Khabib beats the piss out of Conor I think there's a lot more intrigue for the GSP fight but that'd be a rough weight cut.
Yeah if Khabib beats Conor then I’d think there’s no one else Khabib would want next. I also think that’d be the money fight the UFC would want to make next. Hypotheticals are fun aren’t they? Watch GSP never fight again now.
Plot twist: Conor wins and then moves up to fight Woodley. Then we get GSP vs. Conor when Conor beats Woodley by some one-in-a-million shot.
There's definitely plenty of big LW/WW fights that can be made over the next few months! I feel like 229/230 aren't even going to clear things up haha
I mean, look back at even the semi-recent past events... Some things would already make you cringe if you could travel back in time and tell yourself this stuff. Worse things have happened lol
Dana White is such a piece of shit how can you root against your own champion the way that he does with Woodley? it’s disgusting
With the amount of logjamming going on at 155 ever since RDA got the belt, it’s going to take a long time to get things back to normal again. How the universe has avoided any combo of Khabib/Tony/Conor up until this point, I’ll never understand.
