Didn't really mind the stoppage in the Cyborg fight. I think it was clear Smith wasn't "out" and she just happened to be in an awkward position at the end, but that fight wasn't heading anywhere good. I think if I were the ref I would be more cautious about intervening during scrambles like that, but hey, there's never a right answer.

Plus I know you don't want to be sexist but I do prefer when that they stop the ladies fights a little earlier than some of the damage the men take before the ref pulls the pin. She was headed nowhere fast

I didn't know Werdum's antics bothered so many people haha.

I hope he bounces back. Looked to me like he was a little out of shape in there, so I hope he comes back strong. Strikers like Stipe, JDS and Overeem are bad match ups for him but he has the skills to beat them all. He'll probably get one of them as his next fight because lord knows the UFC will try to keep him away from that title shot.

Cain is arguably a better striker than all of the fighters you listed, but Werdum still beat him handily.

I HIGHLY disagree with that statement. Cain has good hands, but he is so effective with it because he threatens with the takedown/clinch and mixes the striking in with the wrestling. Throws people off. Werdum's biggest weapons are his ground game and clinch work, so Cain had no choice but to make it purely a stand up fight (until he shot for a desperation takedown).

Stipe/Overeem/JDS/Arlovski are all much better strikers, which is why Werdum has losses to all. It's all about styles.

    Well fuck.

Weidman injured and out of 199.

2 1/2 weeks away. You think they call Jacare up?

Damn. Jacare might be too soon. Maybe Bisping?

Well Jacare mentioned something on the post fight show on Saturday night about a right knee injury so I'd say he's doubtful. UFC will see the buys for that fly right out the window if they cancel Rockhold entirely and main the show with Faber-Cruz.

But if they want to press on and Jacare can't go, gotta consider Bisping/Magny/Maia.

Faber / Cruz is what I want to see. I don't really care about Rockhold / Weidman very much for whatever reason.

Considering Bisping and Whittaker were rumored to be fighting each other, I would think it has to be one of them that steps in. But this sucks. While I was more interested in the Cruz-Faber fight, I did want to see how this rematch went.

Weidman can try and fight on the NY card now, I suppose.

It's all a ploy to get Weidman / Jones at MSG.

Bisping said he's take the fight on twitter if the UFC want to go that route.

I'd love to see bisping get in there and just completely fuck over the ranks of the UFC. I'm always for an "out of left field" challenger that may actually have a chance.

Like when Sonnen fought Jones, haha.

I am all for it. I mean, you know Bisping will sell the fight well enough.

And if it is Jacare, he has history with Rockhold so that will be a sellable fight, too. But those are the only real options, IMO.

But it's Bisping, dude always gets the short end of the stick. After being in the UFC since 2006, at least give him the title shot.

Can't believe I'm saying this but give it to Bisping. Coming off a win over Silva so it's not totally unwarranted, but the guy has somehow NEVER had a title shot. Now is his time. Plus, you know he wants the Rockhold rematch anyways.

Yeah I agree. Plus they had some pretty frocious banter leading into that Sydney card it would be an quick easy sell and promote again

  25. LukeColdBlue

"I can't believe I ate the whole thing",

The reason why Bisping has never had a title shot is because he always loses to the upper echelon of the division. You don't just get a title shot based off the fact that you've been in the UFC since 2006. Granted he has had a lot victories, however he lost in every instance where a title shot was potentially on offer i.e. Losses to Sonnen, Belfort, Kennedy and Rockhold.

Also Rockhold absolutely destroyed him less than 2 years ago, a rematch will not be competitive in the slightest. Jacare (if he's cleared to fight) is the much better option.
