I don’t know, man. My young Russians don’t have me worried for awhile. Even with Zabit’s last fight being an absolute war.
Nicco Montaño says Valentina Shevchenko is in ‘la-la land’ if she thinks she won’t show up to UFC 228 Nicco Montano hospitalized, UFC 228 title fight in jeopardy I feel bad for her and never accuse people of ducking, but these two articles posted back-to-back is almost comical. Edit: Looks like they're reporting now that she's out for good. I feel for both of them. That blows.
Did you see that a couple people went over and apparently explained how to read the scale when Zabit missed weight? All of a sudden Zabit was on weight and everything was fine. I feel like Woodley probably wasn’t over the dude just didn’t read the scale correctly haha
Sets back women's flyweight division for sure. Till v Woodley should hopefully be a banger. Leaning Woodley right now, think it's a little early for Till.
Yeah making weight has never been an issue for Woodley. That guy should be fired. Really sucks that Val isn’t getting her title shot. I’m also getting sick and tired of watching these fighters nearly kill themselves just to be able to perform in their sport. There needs to be immediate change. They will lose new fans they’ve earned over the past 4 years, and just continue to disappoint the fan base that’s been there, if title fights keep dropping off the week of. Like, there is nearly 1 fighter per card hospitalized during weigh ins. This. Is. Not. Normal.
It looked like there were a lot of issues with that (the commentary from MMAFighting even made a comment about it). Woodley looked genuinely shocked that he "missed" weight, so I would assume he was probably on weight backstage and then they fucked up the scale. I like the guy, but I'm already anticipating him complaining about how someone was out to get him with this scale nonsense and did it to him deliberately lol And when there isn't a hospitalization, there's a handful of fighters being propped up by their team just to walk around. It's the last feeling I'd want to have before competing in a professional sporting event - much less one where another person is trying to physically hurt you.
