There’s an interesting film based on this kind of stuff called a fighting fear Has a big wave surfer and a former UFC fighter Richie Vas trying to deal with mental issues after wipe outs or loses
I think it’s a little funny seeing guys actually stand up to Dana, but I think bringing Ronda into that (or whoever he’s referring to) is uncalled for.
Conor’s pic with Putin was pretty funny. So much love in Vlads eyes And Conor’s soccer tiramisu pic. Subtle jab.
Dana never seemed to care about Stipe. It wouldn’t shock me if he had to win 2 or 3 fights in a row to get another shot (outside of him stepping in to replace someone) You got Brock up next. Whenever Jones comes back we already know they’ll try to have him fight DC again
Also I love Stipe but damn lol He was very down to fight Brock (and get that payday) before he lost the belt. DC would be stupid to rematch Stipe even if it is the right thing to do. Brock guarantees you millions of dollars. The only unfortunate thing is the heavyweight division is going to be held up for a long ass time now. I don't really feel bad for Stipe but I do however feel bad for guys like Blaydes and Volkov.
It's bullshit and money is ruining the sport/UFC. The credibility will continue to dwindle and more fighters will leave soon enough. Stipe did take a nasty eye poke, and while DC had a great game plan, he's a dirty fighter and it's not the first time he's done it. I think after setting the record for most HW title defenses, Stipe is the deserving and obvious answer to who should get the next shot. Joanna got hers. Aldo got his. Garbrandt is getting his next PPV. I think it is insulting to both real fans as well as the real fighters to give roided up fighters like Brock, who don't even stick with the company, opportunities over those who've done a lot for the sport.
Nothing is confirmed at all and I pray that this is the furthest thing from the truth but There's an unconfirmed rumor floating around that Max Halloway suffered a mini-stroke during his weight cut.
FWIW though Bisping said he suffered a pretty nasty knockout in training so I'm more inclined to believe the fighter.
What would the stroke be caused by if that were true? I was under the impression that he was acting really weird and loopy even during the beginning of the week, so it was most likely even before the more intense part of his cut even began. Of course I don't really have any facts that I'm going off of, but to me it just seemed like he had suffered a concussion at some point and tried to pretend like he was okay the best he could.
It was a smaller MMA outlet reporting on it “first”. It went from concussion to water poisoning and then Bisping said on his podcast that he was told by someone close to Max that he got knocked out pretty bad right before the fight
MacDonald headlines Bellator tournament Not sure why MacDonald would be in there, but this tournament looks good.
Regarding Daley, I'm fine either way. If they put him in though, it better be against MVP. Very excited to see Neiman and Ed Ruth in there, even if it is a little early to throw them to the wolves.
We've kind of hit a place in the UFC where we're coming back around. At first when USADA was introduced, we thought "Wow, so many of these guys were cheating the whole time. This is great that they're catching them." Now we hate USADA because they are punishing guys left and right for contaminated substances.
