Last night's card was a true showing of some really great jiu jistu techniques. That standing triangle choke and rolling armbar were awesome. Fedor v Mir went exactly as I expected. Two out of shape, overweight old guys brawling for 1 minute lol.

Dana White Confirms GSP vs Diaz And Rockhold vs Gustafsson Are Targeted For UFC 227

 

If the better Diaz couldn't slow GSP what is Nate going to offer? And Rockhold...yikes.

Also I wonder if they get rid of fightpass since ESPN+ is basically just that.

 

I think Fight Pass is sticking around from what I understand? ESPN gets UFC, but Fight Pass could still have Invicta and the other regional leagues they have on there.

Damn. I guess you can chalk it up to business, but Dana and the current ownership clearly only have concerns for their biggest names. Everyone else is chump change. You don’t see them telling Conor to take his business elsewhere, and that man hasn’t fought in an even longer stretch of time via UFC, defended a belt, or accepted a challenge/fight from anyone who’s been a possible great fight for him.

 

Yeah for real. I could definitely see it making sense to cut a guy who is apparently healthy, has taken tons of time off and still won't accept any fights......but don't turn around and give Nate fucking Diaz a fight with GSP. He's been crying on the sidelines and refusing to take any fight that's not a big money fight or for the belt and they reward him. Not even going to mention letting Conor do whatever the hell he wants in and out of the cage.

Those situations might be on a bigger scale than Yair, but these are the kinds of precedents you set when you let a few guys call the shots. The rest of your roster is going start demanding the same respect.

But in other news...some of the UFC staff got robbed at gunpoint this morning and Mackenzie Dern missed weight by 7 lbs. Not a good start to this card.

 

Dern is just Johnny Hendricks

 

So no one actually believe Vitor is truly done do they?

 

Even if he is done, his legacy will live on forever....in the form of Silva and Machida's highlight reels.

 

Nah he’s not done. He’ll be juiced the fuck up and in Japan or Bellator by next year.

It might have been on the Rogan podcast but I recently heard a statistic about how a crazy amount of fighters who have missed weight this year have won. Makes you wonder about the advantage of not fully cutting until you feel dead. Haha

 

Eh had this fight scored for Jacare, but it was razor close. I thought he landed the better and cleaner shots, but Kelvin just ate them like they were nothing. It was honestly Jacare's fight to lose but his gas tank wasn't there.

 

Good lord Machida kicked Vitor’s head into retirement, where his body will hopefully soon follow.

 

Paul Daley booing his own fight while being ground n’ pounded is one of the funniest things i’ve seen in mma lol
