When MMA starts using wrestling storylines

 

This whole deal is starting to feel WWE'ish for sure with that tweet about UFC PR being with Conor in one of the videos but yet Dana saying a credentialed goof from TheMacLife letting him in.

 

With the TV deal potentially falling through and going to WWE, Dana is definitely attempting to stir up some attention.

 

I mean, if the biggest star in your organization comes in unexpectedly, I'm sure your PR people would be with him no matter what. Don't think anyone expected him to rampage around the Barclays Center.

Dana runs hot so who knows what he would have done in the old days, but I'm sure these things run through Ari/Endeavor now.

 

Although it does not surprise me to see that this may have possibly been set up or at least could have been "allowed" to a certain extent... I feel like getting a teammate thrown off the card and possibly injuring two fighters and getting those fights cancelled (including one title fight/the co-main event) means something got out of hand.

 

Things Conor has done since beating Eddie Alvarez:


1. Fought Floyd Mayweather


2. Attacked a referee at a Bellator event


3. Picked a fight with an Irish mob boss


4. Potentially ruined a fight card


Things Conor has not done since beating Eddie Alvarez:


1. Defended his title

 

Given that this happened in NY, I’m guessing Conor could be in some real trouble here.

NY just barely passed legislation to allow MMA into the state. There has long been serious apprehension about MMA by many in the government. I could easily see someone in the DA / State’s attorney office trying to make an example out of Conor.

Same with the NY licensing board.

Ariel just said on the MMA Beat that they have confirmed that there's not currently a warrant out for Conor's arrest and no one has attempted to press charges at the moment...but the NYPD is currently looking for him. So weird.

 

Thank god Rose is okay. Conor is so fucking lucky that is the case. Fucking asshole.

 

Dana is a fucking clown

 

I know they took Artem off the card but I hope they just cut him entirely. He is the equivalent of an ambien in MMA form.

 

Chiesa should sue Conor for it all.

Maybe I'm in the minority, but this does nothing to excite me for Conor's actual return. He's performances in his fights excite me more than any of these antics ever will. Khabib beefing with a guy who hasn't been in the cage for over a year and never defended a belt along with his teammate who has a losing record just makes me roll my eyes.

 

You'd think Conor would go to bat/put his rep on the line for a better fighter than Lobov.
