heard the new one. It’s great. “And a wrist waatttttttch that tells me the way home. and the wrist wattchhhhh tells me I’m on my own”
I’m working third shift Thursday night (10pm-6am), driving to Pitchfork from Indianapolis at 9:30am to get there for the Friday slate. Nourished By Time starts at 1:00, so gotta be there. The Smile are scheduled to end at 9:50. Do I buy tickets to see the MJ Lenderman aftershow at Lincoln Hall? Starts at 10 but assuming he won’t go on till around 11. Keep in mind after this I would have to drive back to Indianapolis (where I lose an hour, eastern time). ETA would be probably 4:30am. I then have to wake up at 9:30 to watch my 4 kids (6, 4, and 5 month old twins) so my wife can go spend the night at a lake house with her girlfriends until Sunday afternoon (I then go into work at 3pm on Sunday). Am I insane?
I was prepared to say no until I read “5 month old twins” but yes you might be lol. I guess it’s a matter of how much that extra 2-3 hrs of sleep would make it less terrible for you and well…for me the difference between 4.5 and 6.5 is night and day He absolutely rips live tho. I would try like hell to get out of work and make the Bloomington show happen this Thursday instead lol. Or ya know, just do the after show anyway
i wish i could see him in Bloomington - that venue is great or Chicago but alas, I will be at a lake house kicking rocks.
That itinerary would probably kill me and I don’t even have kids New song whips ass as expected. I imagine he’ll drop a new full-length in the first half of next year.
Yeah he crushed it. One of the best shows I’ve been to in a long time. All the new songs ripped, his next album is gonna be a big deal.
I ended up having to sell my tickets for today, so the aftershow was my trade off. I was definitely whooped by the end of the night though!
It’s kind of amazing how MJ himself is almost as popular as Wednesday is, just wild to think about. Wednesday may be slightly more popular, but they’re not far between each other/
I had no idea P4K was this conservative when it came to Weather. I mean with the pop up storms around Chicago and this policy I’m not sure how many more bands are gonna get to play….
Yeah only two songs into Vagabon’s set they made the call, I felt bad for her. Panda Bear didn’t even get to start. At least MJ was able to finish just before the delay.
If I’m at the festival and I can’t see a rain cloud when I look up and around then I don’t know how you justify a delay.
