This was incredible! She was accompanied by an acoustic guitarist and a standing bassist, they played the new album in its entirety, then Francis Forever, I Bet On Losing Dogs, Love Me More, A Pearl, and (solo encore) A Burning Hill

this isn't a knock on the album but i've tried listening to this before bed for the past 5 nights and always fall asleep by the end of the first track. gotta find some time to listen when i'm more awake

Maybe she should put a jump scare on every track

  4. i mean the “family” choir is much louder than the earlier part of the track it does kind of get me scared sometimes lol

Ultimately I'm going to land on this not reaching the heights of BMAMC-Puberty 2-BTC but being a pretty big step up above her first two and Laurel Hell

This is so stunning and getting better every listen. There's so many cool sonic moments but at the bones these are just beautiful songs. She's always been a strong lyricist obviously, but I feel like they really shine here since the focus is more on them.

Tour dates next week… just when I was catching up on my ticket purchases lol

  8. Since I was lucky enough to catch the acoustic "preview" show I wouldn't mind missing the tour date

but obviously I'm gonna try to get tix anyways because of course I would, it's Mitski

I haven't been as obsessed with this album as I have her previous ones, though...

  9. Came back to this and still not really enjoying a number of tracks on here. I like individual tracks and lyrically this is very strong as always with Mitski, but as a whole project I lose interest in it.

I'm becoming obsessed with this. It really highlights the strength of her lyrics and songwriting, but does just enough of the big Mitski moments like the end of I Love Me After You, When Snow Collides, etc. It's hard for me to listen to it and not want to replay right away.

Side note: I really hope this tour is playing big rooms cus I don't want to have a blood bath for tix. I feel like she's in such a weird spot where she's not quite big enough for arenas but she definitely can't just do 5,000 cap rooms.

  12. so basically Billboard is a useless metric of greatness and Mitski is and always has been GOAT

That is actually completely nuts to me to that she’s in the Hot 100. She had like 500k monthly listeners on Spotify when Be the Cowboy came out! Now she has 15M!

I’m really curious what size venues she’s doing on this tour.

There aren’t many dates so I have a feeling this will be a quick sell out like her last tour.

Lots of room to add nights in each city. These are going to be a bloodbath though. And to make it worse I'm picky about seats at Auditorium Theater cus the upper balconies are horrible there. I thinkl she could honestly do at least 4 nights there. Consider me stressed

Yeah taking the weekend off in NYC is stressful but hopefully she adds some more

She looks really happy in that video though, that's good to see

  20. She's been doing a lot of videos for this album, and she looks happy in them. She probably doesn't manage any of her social media platforms personally. Nice way to keep fans updated in an intimate way while keeping a bit of distance so she can continue to do what she loves without letting the bad parts of fame get to her.

I had 560 people in front me for Durham. I had no chance. No tickets except random handicap.
