This is wonderful. Wasn’t sure if she could top Puberty 2 but I think she did. Washing Machine Heart is my favorite after my first listen.
I’m at the point with this record where the only thing keeping me from putting it in the same space as Puberty 2 is time and repeated listens. The songs are great and her vocals are sharp. The emotion, bite, and deviance in her lyrics are still among the best out there. Once I’ve spent months with this thing I know it’ll be a comfort record, just the same as P2.
stopping into my local shop on the way home from work to see if i can get this on vinyl, which i haven't done in years probably. i either pre-order or don't get records at all anymore.
going to my store this afternoon to see if they have the coke bottle. ill probably buy it regardless if its the black.
I did! The guy at the counter was like “ugh they ONLY sent colored vinyl” and I was like ok cool guy I’m tryna be a cowboy so just ring it up thanks!!!!!!!
wow that sounds pretentious and also bad and dumb. there are some record stores my wife (rightly) refuses to go to because the dudes there always talk down to her and she's like nah fuck that
It’s like a “sound quality” thing but having worked at a record label it’s rly bullshit, the gram is what matters (180g etc). Not to mention most people don’t even have an advanced enough set up to take advantage of the minimal difference. I certainly don’t. Give me the pretty one, I can stream the highest quality any time.
Yea I know people say there's a sound difference, but like you said, it's not going to be a difference that probably 99% of vinyl collectors are going to notice. Unless you have a crazy set up. I'm sure a lot of people just claim to hear a difference when they actually do not. But I've never had good hearing so maybe I just can't hear the differences.
Love variants. They look great and if you get great press idc enough to notice between colored and black.
I only pick a colored vinyl if it coordinates with the album cover (or it’s the only option). Otherwise I go with black or clear.
I’m beginning to think all your talk of working in law was to cover up that you’re an elitist record store owner!
