I did a rewatch of the Mission Impossible films in preparation for The Final Reckoning so here's my rankings of the films so far

1. Mission Impossible
2. Mission Impossible : Rogue Nation
3. Mission Impossible : Ghost Protocol

5. Mission Impossible 3
6. Mission Impossible : Dead Reckoning
7. Mission Impossible 2

 

Fallout criminally low on that list! Good ranking otherwise though.

 

Fallout is one of my favorite action movies and I think the best MI movie

 

Fallout is 1, MI2 is last

i was taken away by the movie theater experience

i rewatched at home and was underwhelmed

 

Like Josh said the set pieces in dead reckoning are great and even though the story is a mess it’s much much better than 2. Not even close.

the plot is so goofy and entering in some villain with a terrible performance that is responsible for ethan’s entire career (?) at this point is so weird

 

I don't remember him being responsible for Ethan's career, just that they knew each other before Ethan joined IMF, and something happened.

 

he killed someone ethan was entangled with and ethan got blamed for it which led him to ethan joining IMF
