This was a lot of fun. Still not as good as the last two (@stayillogical called it). Also, I still don’t see what the big deal about Cavill’s mustache was. It seriously looked like he could have grown it in two weeks haha. What a shit show that entire situation was.

 

I'm surprised. I think without a doubt this is better than Rogue Nation. Not sure about Ghost though.

 

This is probably my second favorite after Rogue Nation. The opera house sequence is still the best set piece of the series.

 

Why do people like Ghost Protocol so much?

Mission impossible has had a much stronger run than James bond over the last 4 movies.

You're going to say that in all seriousness after Casino Royale and Skyfall? I mean especially Skyfall. I'm baffled.

 

I would take Ethan Hunt over James Bond 100% of the time all the time.

 

I mean, he definitely has more personality, but I just can't imagine wanting to watch something like Rogue Nation over Skyfall.

 

jason bourne is the only valid competition and the last one kinda wiped that out

 

Absolutely stronger, it’s not even close. Spectre is a fucking awful movie.

 

I would 100% prefer to watch any mission impossible over any James Bond.

 

He said a stronger run.... your counter is 2 movies and conveniently skipping the awful one between those 2 that ruin the run, even if we all agreed CR and SF were better than MI.

I’ll take Hunt over Bond, for sure.

 

Spectre isn't terrible, it's just ridiculously safe and should've been a couple times better than what it was. Also, Jason Bourne (the movie) and MI2 are on the same level imo

 

Mission Impossible is on a great run but I’d still take James Bond as a whole over MI. I grew up watching Bond and will always love it.

 

I liked Spectre better than Skyfall *shrugs*

But honestly the last Bond movie that stands a chance against the last few M: I movies is Casino Royale.

 

Better question: why do people hate Spectre and M:I 2 so much?

 

I grew up on both about equally haha. I like some films from each better than some films from the other. But I think this film might now be by favorite of either series.

 

Because anyone can tell they are bad movies that suffer from weak plots, vapid characters and eye roll enducing moments. They can be enjoyable, but that doesn't make them good. (Unless you get into the whole "if it's entertainment and it's enjoyable doesn't it do it's job well?" thing but that's a whole different discussion)

 

Fair enough answer. I still thoroughly like them both.

 

I don't think either is as bad as a lot of people say, but everyone has their own opinions on what makes a good movie a good movie.

 

I feel like we are all having the wrong conversation because we've left out a vital franchise:

Fast And The Furious.

 

To be honest I'd watch Rush Hour over everything, but I know that's not really the same haha

John Wick though...

 

Ah, Fast and the Furious. Action movies before dumb people.

 

Never seen any of them and don't really have a desire to.
