mission impossible 2 is fucking amazing

3 is the worst easy

 

one of them has phillip seymour hoffman and the other doesn’t.

 

just the worst opinion. 2 isn’t as bad as people say but 3 rules.

 

Having just rewatched 2 and then 3 last night, I’d say 2 is kind of boring until the third act. 3 is awesome and reignites the franchise.

 

psh is in like ten minutes of mission impossible 3 total. the plot sucks and it looks like a tv pilot

is there even a memorable set piece in mi:3? that rivals two motorcycles fucking in the air? john woo can obv direct circles around jj abrams there’s no question there

mi:3 may have rejuvenated the series financially (?) but the real ideas and energy are all in ghost protocol

 

2 absolutely has rocks in its head plot-wise but is a total visual torrent from start to finish, and 3 is a poorly-lit alias episode, i can go on and on about this

 

That two motorcycle bit was ridiculously dumb - I roll my eyes around my head every time I see that scene, or the fight scenes, or the bit of Cruise in slow motion on the bike falling down or whatever. Just dumb ass action for the sake of trying to look cool, and failing miserably

Tom Cruise running from missiles on a bridge is a better set piece than basically anything in MI2

my worst movie opinion is prob that i think the star wars prequels are amazing

 

I feel like there's a lot of people who think that though. More than I would have previously assumed until I started posting here.

I'm talking an opinion that almost no one else carries. A real deep, dark, dogshit kind of an opinion. You got one of those?

 

they aren’t good but they’ve increased in my favor after the sequel trilogy

 

i feel like i’ve met no one irl who likes the prequels and even on the internet it’s dodgy

uhhh how about i know who killed me is my favorite modern giallo

 

i watched the motorbike jousting scene again and i’m sorry but it’s the coolest thing that’s ever happened in a movie

 

it’s also very homoerotic in a way the rest of the series isn’t :)

cocking your arm guns is the best thing in the M:I series.

2 is dull as hell, and has Tom Cruise running and doing a backflip kick to a goons face.
