That closer makes me super nostalgic for summer 2010 lol

 

POI has the better songs overall, but MeO has a more unique and captivating sound (and maybe higher highs as a result?).

I prob said this here before, but I almost feel like the Beer Commercials EP used up too many of their best song ideas from that era, and that's part of why MeO feels a little too meandery and has some filler. The EP + the best half of MeO as one LP would've easily been their best release.

 

Beer Commercials is indeed awesome.

 

I feel that's a large reason for those who have it as their favorite. I'm probably a good amount older than a lot on here. My first introduction to the band was Absinthe Party at the Fly Honey Warehouse at a college party before MEO came out.

HRP and MEO remain huge, huge records in my library.

Spritz!!!Spritz!!! Was the first song I heard by them when my sister would play indie music as our dad commented to work when I was 13(?). So it’s probably still my fav MtB track and I didn’t realize it was them til years later.

 

I've been on a big Television / Minus the Bear kick this week, and I think that could've been a great tour.

Oh yeah. All three of them should have gone on voids.

 

Picked up that record on a whim at a random record store once while away for work. Fantastic decision.

Botch are literally on a world tour right now so idk

 

They're more active on social media than most bands that are still together. "Happy 6 and a half year anniversary to our 2nd single off VOIDS"

I love them, and am rooting for a comeback. IMO it's a certainty and just a matter of time.

 

If they ever come back, I hope they get back to writing some top notch stuff like they did in the earlier days. I think Infinity Overhead is fairly good, but I don’t like Omni anymore and I never got into Voids so the back half of their discography is markedly weaker than what they were doing pre-Omni

 

Agreed. Planet of Ice is peak MTB. Omni was fun but i want weird.

 

Pretty sure I said it in here last year, but that run of Beer Commercials, Menos El Oso, and Planet Of Ice is so good. They were on absolute fire then and it all culminated with their best album

 

HRP-> Menos will always be my favorite version of Minus the Bear.
Planet was great but not my favorite itinerary of the band.
I enjoyed Omni->Voids a fair degree, some better than others, but that is when the quality started going down a bit imo.

 

OMNI is good, infinity Overhead is pretty good, Voids is the only stinker

 

I think you could make a good short quick album out of:
1. Last Kiss
2. Invisible
3. What about the boat
4. Silver
5. Fair Enough
6. Viaduct
7. Dinosaur
8. Lighthouse

Thats what my void album is at least.

 

Silver is stellar
