no worries! i actually just got notified im going out of town for work wednesday night to sometime friday so who knows if i will be in the mood for a concert that night. haha.
if anyone is bored tomorrow night and wants to meet up for a drink or something, let me know. I'm at a hotel in Eden Prairie but am down to go wherever. Tomorrow will be the first day I've had so far to explore the area so I'm pretty excited
just went to the Mall of America haha. I'm such a Minneapolis newb. I bought my dad a Vikings shirt for Father's Day.
They just opened a shake shack there! You should try making your way over to Lake Calhoun/Uptown today. Really active area, walkable, with tons of restaurants and shops to try out. Or just hang by the lake. Sucks that it's kinda cloudy out but the rain looks to be holding off. You could also hit up Minnehaha Falls. That's a really cool waterfall right in the city that is easily accessible and fun to explore around.
I wanna say there's a Pittsburgh Blue there. Solid steakhouse, but besides that, I know nothing about suburbs. There's city wide garage sales until 5 in NE today, if you're looking for a fun way to get acclimated with the city.
Today would probably be a surprisingly nice day for St. Anthony Main/Stone Arch/Mill City exploration, I bet.
but im fairly introverted, so moa is too much for me most of the time. i will go on weekdays when i don't work rather than a weekend. haha
It's fine and has all the stores I'd want to go at a mall, but also hundreds more stores than a regular mall that I don't care about. Though I might just be bitter about Camp Snoopy.
walked around uptown and it seemed awesome. Buzza seemed like a perfect fit for me but I make roughly a couple thousand more to be able to qualify living there :( anyone have any apartment recommendations for the Uptown area? Sorry I've asked so many questions, you guys are virtually my only resource besides my co workers and I don't have any of their numbers yet. I really appreciate the banter and feedback everyone!
Can't say I have any specific recommendations other than, don't feel like you NEED to go with one of those new construction high end buildings. By all means do it if that's what you prefer but you may be able to find nice space in an old brownstone for less rent. Also, maybe spend a little bit of time in NE Mpls before making the final decision. I'm partial to uptown and southwest Minneapolis as a whole but a lot of my friends live in NE and love it there.
