Guysss. Just saw this thread. I'm going to Eaux Claires next year, so I'll likely spend a day or two in Minneapolis. Any must go-to bars/restaurants?
Not sure what your budget is, but 112 Eatery, Bar La Grassa, Borough are all favs of mine. We have tons of bars here, but Brits Pub and The Local I like as well; all these are in Minneapolis (downtown-ish). But I'm sure all the others here have other awesome recommendations
Also, same guy who got me Vikings/Packers tickets just kinda jokingly suggested via email he's going to request from his Vikings/NFL contact two Superbowl tickets, and it might have to be him and I who go.
Some friends of mine doing the Twin Cities 10-Mile race/run on Sunday morning; going to be about 37 degrees when they start off at 7am. Yeah, not fun....
On my way downtown for the game, gonna be a hell of a good time! And only one more day until the most important religious figure in the world blesses our city.
I'm going to be up there in two weeks and I'm so excited. I need a Juicy Lucy and near-death experiences on 35W.
BTW, had the burger at Borough(more specifically, Parlour) last Friday, and while it was pretty freaking tasty, it reminded me of a butter burger from Culvers, and so was not worth it's $14.
I think I had one at Blue Door last time. I'm not sure what I'll be doing (at the mercy of the people I'm visiting), but I think that needs to happen at least once.
Best Blue Door burger I ever had was the Humpty, which was topped with Irish bacon and a poached egg, stuffed with ground up cheese curds and a patty slathered in red wine reduction
I think that was one of their BOM (Burger of the Month) burgers, and that was a few years ago. It's been a while since I've been to Blue Door, and I haven't tried out the third/new location yet, so maybe it's on their menu now?
Maybe I come visit soon. Maybe I just move there. I don't know yet. But I know at some point I'm eating that shit.
I went to Breaking Bread for the first time today, had some biscuits and turkey chorizo gravy that was goddamn delicious. I need to spend more time in that part of town.
I've been there twice; not impressed either time. Compared to the Blue Door, the burger is nothing special
