Yeah it's through one of the customers I've been working with the past 11 months or so at work; many months ago he mentioned maybe trying to get me free tickets to a game this fall, so I've been milking that ever since, giving their account priority attention over others, hahaha. I think they're worth about $500 a piece on Stubhub right now. Will try taking my Dad, since I don't believe he's been to a Vikings game before, yet is a huge fan
Mill City closing at the end of the year. The venue itself is garbage but they had been hosting some decent events. One less place for bands to hit. That's not good.
From what I've read AEG is considering opening up a different venue in another part of the Twin Cities, so maybe they want to close MCN down in order to free up money for a new venue instead.
still haven't been there under the Mill City name, i always enjoyed shows there when it was Club 3 Degrees, though.
Autumn (when we get it) > mild winter > mild summer > hot summer > cold winter > not counting spring cause that's not a thing here It's an incredibly safe city. Every metro has its problem areas, but on the whole, I definitely hold safety as one of the more positive elements of living here. Ehhh. They got like three shows a year that I liked, in all honesty. Plus, yeah, I'm with you, the staff was atrocious to deal with and the venue setup/pricing was straight-up bad. I can't say I'll miss it.
Wheels of Italy Italian car show over at the Calhoun Executive Center today, from 10-4pm, free. Ferraris, Maseratis, Lamborghinis, Alfa Romeos, Ducati bikes, etc. I've gone the last few years and there's always been a great selection of cars to check out
Oh man I remember seeing cartel and panic at the disco there back in the day! And I admit I am from Wisconsin as well, but hey it's nice here so
Oh man, I remember the Ascot Room; went to a Battle of the Bands there back in like 2002/2003 or something.
Amazing atmosphere at the Vikings/Packers game last night; both my Dad and I's first Vikings game ever. Got two free tickets through a customer I've worked with at work; pretty awesome spot near the endzone. Place was incredibly loud, so much so we had to put tissue in our ears to dampen the sound a bit. Great half time show, with the whole place singing "Purple Rain" by Prince. Diggs looked fantastic, while Bradford was pretty reliable/did his job. Overall awesome experience
Also, seems like "Purple Lamborghini" by Rick Ross & Skrillex is an official song of Vikings game now, haha; they blared it a few times throughout the game
Legit took a personal day yesterday because I didn't want to deal with my Vikings fan coworkers, haha.
