Was planning on going to that Bayside/Menzingers show but then Bruce announced a show in Chicago so I'm going down to that with some friends. Really really stoked on that Joyce Manor/Hotelier show though!
This afternoon will be brutal; friends want to go on a trail run with a group from Saucony at 6:30 in St. Paul; not sure if I want to.....
My wife and I are strongly considering moving to the Twin Cities sometime early next year! Moving from Appleton, Wisconsin and just want a change of pace/experience the city life. We've got out eye on Uptown but we're pretty open at the moment. We really want to be somewhere where we can walk to restaurants/stores/etc. Any recommendations are welcome!
First I'd just take a look through the previous comments in this thread; the places we discuss are mainly Uptown and the North Loop. Both places offer plenty of shops, restaurants, a young demographic, etc. Uptown gets my vote mainly because it's right next to Lake Calhoun and trails that lead to other lakes; essentially you're closer to nature compared to North Loop. Other than that, they're both pretty similar in what they offer. Might have to pay a decent amount to get a good place, but you'll enjoy the spot you're in
I implore any potential transplants to look into Northeast. Seems to get overlooked by just about everyone. Also, been working a lot of patio this week. Been brutal af
I read through them! Lots of great suggestions. Are there any specific neighborhoods in the NE you recommend? Or is it simply called "Northeast Minneapolis"? Sometimes the neighborhoods confuse me haha.
i went to some bar in north loop the other weekend called the loop after the twins game and it was the worst. i mean maybe its a cool bar but since im used to and enjoy places like mortimers and the VFW hall on lyndale it wasn't my cup of tea. haha
There are some smaller, much more specific neighborhoods that you wouldn't need to worry yourself with until moving. For now, 'northeast' is good, I'd say.
I had no idea On An On were from here. I would absolutely kill to see them on Wednesday but that's the day I move to Mankato for training camp. I want to cry..
