has anyone tried TacoCat? they do bike delivery in mpls, but also have a small menu inside Midtown Global Market at EastLake Brewery.
Just had it for dinner tonight at Eastlake! They're certainly not going for "authentic mexican" as much as it's just trying to be interesting with their taco selection and ingredients, etc. But I really liked it, super tasty!
Awhile back I asked for suggestions for pizza places to check out because my friends and I were making Youtube videos about it. Well, we're on episode 6 and I realized I hadn't shared them here. They're not really meant to be taken seriously, it's mostly just a fun thing for us to do and an excuse for us to try new pizza places every week. Here's our newest episode, if you like it feel free to check out some of the other ones! (Some of them are better than others, last week was mostly thrown together last minute since it was over the 4th). We're always welcoming suggestions, I hope we can give you a laugh or two!
I had my first big night out in Uptown on Saturday. I went to many rooftops and drank many beers. It was awesome. Can't wait to go back. I move out of this hotel and into my apartment on Thursday. Woo!
Sick nasty. Let me know if you ever want to hop around NE or just hang out sometime! Lot of fun stuff coming up these next couple months.
Totally random: I am a huge snapchat nerd, so I invite anyone to add/snap me. I have some training on Friday at US Bank Stadium, so I'm sure I'll take some pictures.
Heck yeah! Let me know what's going on around here, and I'd be totally down to meet up sometime. Yeah definitely. My Instagram is "mralexxmiller" that's my username for everything
Headed out to MPLS for the first time next week. If I land the job I'll be moving out there from NYC. Any thoughts on living Uptown vs. Downtown/North Loop?
Both are pretty solid areas; one benefit to Uptown is the proximity to the lakes, notably Lake Calhoun. Plenty of bars and restaurants in Uptown, that are packed with 20-30 somethings on weekends. North Loop area is an up and coming area I'd say; probably a bit more expensive, but you're closer to downtown, and still have plenty of great restaurants and bars around you, with probably a slightly older clientele living in the area. So to me both areas are great, but being near Lake Calhoun would mean Uptown would win the vote for me.
Thanks for this. I'm 29 and have been leaning towards Uptown should things go my way with the job. Job would be a reverse commute out of the city, so there's no major concern there. Prices look pretty similar on Zillow, but there's definitely more options in Uptown. It's amazing that for what I pay to be in a tiny room with a roommate in Brooklyn can get me a "luxury" building in MPLS.
On weekends, Uptown is a bit more lively than downtown. Super walkable, and the lakes being right there are prime. Personally, I would do uptown.
North Loop/DT will definitely be more expensive than Uptown 90% of the time. If you found similar buildings in both areas similarly priced, that's definitely the exception, not the rule. Regardless, both areas are lovely (DT being a bit closer to NE MPLS, which I'm biased towards), and hopefully you end up joining us here!
I'm seeing John Paul White (of The Civil Wars fame) at the Bryant Lake Bowl tonight (why he's playing there I have no idea)
