I’m not sure if this will grow any legs here, but minimalism is a philosophy I’ve really been trying to adhere to for the past few years. I’ll post some literature shortly. Very interested in chatting with others who may be intrigued by the concept.

I've been trying to be more minimalistic these days, especially since the pandemic started. I do ok at it. I could always do better but I think I probably do better than most people. aside from a few staples I consume regularly, I don't buy all that many luxuries. feel less and less of a need to accrue material possessions as time goes on too

I feel this as well, but somehow I keep finding myself accruing more. Some of this has to do with having a child, but it's been a challenge. I start a new job next month so I'm currently working on thinning out my wardrobe to only the necessities. The Perfect Minimalist Wardrobe: Every Piece A Man Needs

that list of clothes has about five times the amount of variation from what I have now so I guess I’m doing better than the list lol. Not that there’s like one “right” way to approach minimalism.

    I have:

    t-shirts
Long sleeve button up work shirts
    Jeans
    Winter jacket
    Other jacket

That’s it. Most of the stuff mentioned in that article I’ve never even heard of or ever needed which sadly made it seem like most other “must have” lists that just try to get you to buy shit

I’ve really gone hard on minimalism the last six years or so. Used to have a full living room set before I realized it’s always just me and I can only sit in one place at once so I downgraded to a couch and a floor standing lamp. That’s it. Even got rid of my coffee table which was tough to do because it was cool looking, but never used.

bedroom is just my bed on a frame, nothing that adds clutter to the room and a floor standing lamp with shelves built in.

I used to have tons of shit on my walls throughout the apartment but got rid of it all as it started to bug me and not look “clean”. Works for me but would drive other people mad I’m sure

I don’t intentionally try to be minimalistic, but I don’t like clutter and find it easier to organize my place if I don’t have too many items.

My room consists of a TV, a Switch, Apple TV, reading lamp, and a few books. My living areas consists of two pieces of furniture, a TV, and a table.

Those are by far the rooms with the most items in them.

I keep around 6 or 7 pairs of clothes for each season, I have three pairs of footwear (hiking, jogging, casual), and instead of having a lot of pots and pans, I just keep the same 4 plates and 2 pans and wash them after each use (along with 1 tea cup, a water bottle, and two glass cups).

I’m extremely into minimalism so i’m excited this thread popped up.

I’ve spent a lot of time over the years figuring out what minimalism means to me and I must stress to those out there who are new to the concept that it doesn’t necessarily mean not having a lot of things. It’s all about having things that are meaningful and serve purpose to you.
