Oh damn thats a great tour. MG, Pool Kids, Spiritual Cramp, and Spaced is extremely solid and a nice mix.
Never listened to Pool Kids, but Militarie Gun/Spiritual Cramp/Spaced is a great lineup for me. Gonna try to hit the Toronto date
They have had good draws in Chicago (including good showings at the Metro as opener and direct), and it's probably on a short list of most played cities for them. But I think this is an all hands on deck package for Bottom Lounge. Pool Kids and Spiritual Cramp should hopefully bring a different mix to the show and Spaced has been a nice roll lately. But MG will have a good turnout regardless. I think it's the right venue. Anything below this quickly gets into too small territory I think. Pain Of Truth should not have been playing Sub T for example. Beat Kitchen has been doing less hardcore lately, but also fills quickly.
Since they're skipping CLE (fuckers) deciding between Edgemen and Preserving Underground. Probably leaning towards Edgemen but not sure if I wanna see this show on the floor with no stage for anyone to jump off
Gonna try to hit this tour with @Nate_Johnson in Raleigh. New versions are cool too, perfect for this time of year.
love the band, the early stuff is some of my favorite stuff of the decade so far. them getting softer is ... not it for me lol
I don't mind the softer songs and maybe I would have liked these if they were only version that I'd heard, but having heard the original versions, it's like they took all the good stuff from those and removed it for the re-recordings.
I think these versions are interesting, but I’ll probably never listen to them again. I feel the same way about almost all re-recordings like this though.
Somehow just discovered them and loving it. Def gonna try to hit up the Toronto date bc it’s on my bday and I love pool kids too and have never seen them.
Never heard of these guys but they’ve popped up on a bunch of publication year end lists and then a bunch of people on here as well and I’m really into it. I feel like at times they sound like Cloud Nothings at 3/4 speed and I’m here for it.
Also just discovering this band from year end lists. It's so great. I guess I should check out cloud nothings next
