It’s fine, not for me. Really feels like they’re progressively losing the noisy dissonant elements that made them so interesting in the first place. Happy for their success though.
Don’t think the new track really strays from anything else they’ve done. I dig it, pretty middle of the road for me in terms of their songs. Really wonder how everyone would feel if the releases were put out in the order they were written.
Cannot get enough “Thought you were Waving” Love that it has all the ingredients of a Milatrie Gun song but ventures off to new places.
Wasn't wild on Thought You Were Waving at first. I thought it was kind of boring but it's grown on me quite a bit.
I loved it when it dropped and can’t wait for more from them in this vein. Bonus points my 4 yo requests it on drives. Dude is upping the punx and I love it.
Oh yeah those were pretty cool to hear last night at SITW. Wild crowd for them too. I was watching from the balcony and they had the whole place moving.
Loved hearing those two new songs yesterday! "B-A-D-I-D-E-A" is an absolute ripper... Worth noting that they mentioned their going into the studio next week to record a new record! So we'll probably get a new LP from them in the fall?
I was literally jamming Life Under The Gun at the gym this morning so this is a very welcome surprise.
Ian did Jeremy Bolm's podcast. 232: Ian Shelton (Militarie Gun / RJC): The New Initiation New MG / Dazy single coming out at some point this year.
Kevin who plays in Militarie Gun has a new band with members of Harms Way, Inclination, and Weekend Nachos, and they dropped an EP yesterday. They play with a more melodic indie rock/post-punk style that fans of MG will likely appreciate:
Glad you're digging it! I totally forgot about the last EP and was surprised when I saw it in my library after I added this one. In case anyone is interested, here are the members and their other projects: Kevin Kiley (Militarie Gun, Lurk), bassist Chris Mills (Harms Way, Inclination), guitarist Kevin Maida (Knuckle Puck, Lurk), drummer Drew Brown (Weekend Nachos), and recorded with Andy Nelson (Weekend Nachos).
