I'm on the other side, this album really sold me on their new direction. Last album just made me wanna go back to their old EP's, but with this album I see the vision and I'm onboard.
Not all the way through, but this rules. Some of my favorites from them are the one off singles. Pressure Cooker and Thought you were waving rule, this feels like a record full of that energy.
Some of this reminds me of old Sum 41. I also love Isaac Brock’s part so much for some reason. Just a really well utilized feature.
I remember Ian saying something about how they had wanted him to sing on "Thought You Were Waving" but the version with his part on it would never see the light of day because Isaac hated the way it turned out. So it's pretty rad that they (presumably) took that part and basically turned it into an intro to that particular song.
you see the video of him getting after it with Do It Faster? Sounded pretty good even if it was him having a good time.
Had to look up the lyrics to Kick because I kept hearing “my boyfriend’s wife” which certainly painted an interesting picture… anyway, love this album. Listened to it all weekend. I do wish they had put Daydream somewhere else on the album because it kills a lot of momentum from the first few songs. No idea where else it could go, but it’s my only real gripe with the album.
yeah daydream is just out of place on this record where it’s at and just sucks a lot of energy out of the run. I’d probably slot it in before the closer
Very much enjoying this album. Kick and God Owes Me Money are absolute bangers. Isaac's Song into Thought You Were Waving felt reminiscent of Senses Fail's Negative Space into The Priest and the Matador.
got the same one and it looks so cool. is the poster actually signed I can't tell if it's authentic?? also got the lemonade mix lol
haha I didnt realize that was lemonade! I am not sure on the auto - I didnt open the poster. I can send a picture of it in a bit if you wanted to compare it to yours.
Militarie Gun: God Save the Gun Surprising mid review from pitchfork. Mostly revolves around not loving the lyrics it seems
Eh I’ve always dismissed Ian Cohen’s take on lyrics ever since he directly pulled the hotelier’s lyrics off of their Bandcamp where they censored ‘fuck’ with ‘butthead’ and then called the lyrics immature or some bullshit. (For it never goes out iirc)
