I like this album a lot more than I've ever liked anything else she's done and I'm on "Golden G String" realizing it's because she sounds a lot like Gaga on this record (to me) edit: it's not life changingly good, but I like this. For me, this is high Miley praise.
I definitely get the Gaga vibes, especially on the ballads. The Ronson songs even felt like little bit of a continuation of Joanne. For what it's worth, I enjoyed it from the start but it did take a few listens for some of the songs to 100% click. Bad Karma probably the biggest example
I think my favorite moment on the album is the few times when she goes "hard as I try" in Never Be Me. Can't explain why but I love it
Yes, I hadn't thought about that track specifically but now that you pointed that out, this is exactly what I meant
I like Mileys music probably more than the average person, but I just found this okay with the exception of golden g string which I rly like. I only listened once so I need to listen more. It has a less dated sound than her previous stuff tho. I def think it will age better. The aesthetic is also fun
Nope, Bad Bunny's new album is #1. Taylor's #7. Still really impressive for an album that came out almost 5 months ago.
so lets recap what Miley's doing right now. -Covers: Courtney Love/Hole, Cranberries, Blondie -Collabs with: Billy Idol, Joan Jett, Stevie Nicks, Dua Lipa -Goes full badass 80s and does a bunch of live performances and shows the world her pipes -she brings back a deep cut "who owns my heart" because she's like why the fuck wasnt that song bigger the first time....hah i feel like this is such a punk thing to do. Go to a show and play a deep cut. I know it was a single, but for many, it's a deep cut. Someone had a good 2020
does anyone know a system or a way to keep track of live performances/covers? I keep finding more and more and more covers Miley did in 2020 (and beyond) that i had no idea
