Seems like a single project worked on with shared collaborators, split between the two rappers. I don't think it would just be two albums if there weren't thematic connections or the shared production with Surf Gang
I don't think it's that weird of a premise at all lol, two frequent collaborators on a project with shared production, just split into two discs
Gotta say I love that this got announced less than a month before release, more bands/artists do that please
I strangely have never listened to MIKE. Or at least I don’t think I have. What’s a good starting point?
he’s got a lot out there. I first discovered him with the album war in my pen and was instantly hooked. I do think you could start with weight of the world and move to more current, disco is maybe my favorite of his. the wiki collab with the alchemist (faith is a rock) is also a good one if you’re a fan of wiki too.
I am hit or miss on MIKE's delivery (which is hilarious because of how much Earl was influenced by it) but I really enjoyed Burning Desire. Echoing the Wiki/Alchemist collab as well
MIKE is probably my current favourite rapper. Everything he’s done has been top tier modern rap. For a man with such a relaxed flow, he’s got so much energy.
Man I am so behind, I haven't even checked Earl's 2025 album out yet and I'm a reasonably big fan of his Still need to check out MIKE at all
so funny to think about people complaining about mumble-rap a few years ago and then fast-forwarding to two of the bigger current "conscious rappers" mumbling at levels previously thought impossible. lmao
I'm not sure this project is for me, halfway through the Earl half and every single song and flow sounds exactly the same
