Honestly gonna avoid that trailer. I would say the teaser was good enough for me to guarantee my butt in a seat for Midsommar - but it was really seeing Hereditary that made me say "whatever Ari Aster makes next: I'M THERE!"

I'm a little apprehensive of how much focus could be on a strained relationship between the two leads but then I think back on Hereditary with how much of the movie was focused on familial issues and how it was one of the best parts of the movie, so my worries are tempered a bit.

 

How much of the story is in the trailer? I got an email about it and I’m slightly hesitant to watch. Normally I don’t care but with this I want to be blindsided.

 

Yeah, I'm good not watching that trailer. I have complete faith he won't let me down on this one -- Hereditary is already one of my all time favourite films

Really curious what happened to the gf to make her come on the trip....knowing Hereditary it’s something super fucked up.

 

I dunno but imma predict that accent man did it (but I hope not cause that feels cliche). I’m also gonna go out on a limb and say that that person with the fucked up face is Dani. I feel like the trailers for Hereditary did a great job at misdirecting us and I’m gonna assume this is the same

 

I’m guessing it ends with us finding out the cult in Sweden is actually worshipping a demon/fallen angel.

Definitely not reading the leaked script for this. I know this film will be filled with twists and I want to wait until I see it.

 

I read the script yesterday. Obviously without spoiling anything, it’s amazing how distinct Ari Aster’s style is already.
