It's not really similar to Midsommar, but I always recommend Borgman for anyone looking for some of that weirder, hypnotic type of horror.
Did my first rewatch of this since I saw it in theatres. I believe it to be a near perfect film. That opening few minutes is so gut wrenching from all angles (worries about a loved one who is saying scary things, seeing both sides of a very sick relationship) and sets the audience in a boiling pot of “this isn’t going to end well”.

I need to watch Hereditary given how much I liked Midsommar. But I'm scarred since I'm not a horror film guy. haha
hereditary is fucking terrifying as a huge horror guy, that and black christmas are the only movies that have genuinely scared me.
