Saw this a couple of nights ago. Loved it on all levels. Definitely stayed with me more than Herditary did after one watch, but I should watch that one again
I’ll never forget the family of five that was in my theater watching Prometheus. More than one of the kids begging the parents to take them away and they refused to do anything. Prometheus can’t even compare to Midsommar in terms of impact, but seeing kids cower in fear as their parents did nothing struck me as some of my favorite parenting
Looks like this weekend's releases also bumped Midsommar out of theaters, which is unfortunate because I kind of wanted to see it again. After Hereditary scarred me for life, who'd have thought I'd want to see an Ari Aster film more than once haha
[Review] ‘Midsommar’ Director’s Cut Adds (Even More) Depth to the Characters Review contains spoilers if you don’t want to know about the added scenes.
If anyone is curious about the added scenes but won't be able to see the director's cut, it looks like everything in this new cut is just everything that didn't make it from the screenplay that's been floating around.
