Tried listening to the score while I worked and it made me feel the same dread I felt while watching the movie. Great stuff though.

 

when they get to the village right before the meal right before they go to do the cliff jumping they talk how they only "feast like this" every 90 years and they won't for another 90 years.

so idk what that means lol but it doesn't seem like he made it up

 

So Pelle’s parents probably sacrificed themselves too, like Ingmar and the other guy did at the end right? At first I thought he meant they were cremated (after jumping off the cliff) once reaching the age of 72. Would that timeline work with however often they do that?

 

Yeah I think they do the general harvest stuff and have the May Queen every year, but the entire ritual only happens once every 90. Since they seem to control breeding pretty heavily I’m sure they have ways of timing it so people are all the right ages next time around.

Suicides from a cliff happen every summer for those of age. The burning of nine people happens every 90.

 

So can we assume the line about Pelle's parents might have been some other ritual sacrifice the cult has?

I wonder if these people get reduced retiree insurance rates due to their cap on actuarial tables. Makes everything easier
