I LOVED this. The climax was extremely cathartic for me.

 

People getting all butt hurt over a reddit OPINION. Why can't people agree to disagree without being upset that someone doesn't like something. I think its pretty easy to see why certain people wouldn't enjoy this movie even if you thought it was amazing. I think I was a little too harsh on my first reaction, but still respect everyones takes and appreciate the debate.

 

That Reddit post was terrible. Richard Brody is one of my favorite critics and I’m not mad at his pan of the film, because he’s engaging the movie on its terms, not complaining that water is wet.

Went into this not knowing it was the same guy who did Hereditary and not knowing who The Haxan Cloak was.

The Haxan Cloak definitely seems like something you'd like, recommend checking out Excavation

Feel like no ones talking about how incredible that scene with the Firefighters going through Dani’s parents house was.

This movie absolutely deserves some awards talk for Cinematography and Production Design

 

That’s a great scene, and the part when they find her sister is the most horrified I was the entire movie.

 

Aster was definitely flexing his directorial muscle with how that entire opening was composed, masterfully done

 

Yeah, that was a great scene. The whole opening 30-60 minutes was amazing to me.

Has anyone seen any of his short films? Im curious to check them out and see how thematically similar they are to his features films.
